    Another one of those beers that I've chased forever and ended up mildly disappointed by. It's a great stout, don't get me wrong, but really not that amazing. I still prefer Narwhal, which is, of course, even harder to find in Germany at non-ridiculous prices.





    In almost 50 years, this song has lost none of its power and relevance. In fact it's more relevant than ever. Fuck capitalism. Great cover by Green Day and kudos to them for bringing political songs back into mainstream music.

    The baby is a star around here, almost a third of WBAYDN are started with him. Great Stout indeed, KBS is better and CBS, God, CBS is from another World.

    Ive yet to try BCBS though.. some claims it's even better than Founders Stouts.

    BCBS really is fantastic, clearly better than KBS in my opinion. CBS on the other hand... that's a tough one.

    I don't drink liqueur in my coffee, but I from time to time receive little bottles of the stuff, usually as a stocking stuffer or something. I figured I may as well try it in beer:

    Turned out pretty well, but sweeter than a White Russian. Definitely a night-on-the-town kind of concoction. I could see this going over pretty well .... but yeah, it's damned sweet.

    Moving on to a beer where the adjuncts are already provided by the brewer:

    The regular version, unlike Dave; I ran out of the BA variant pretty quickly (it's delicious!).

    Attractive amber gold color with disappearing white cap.

    Nice scent of bready malt with a touch of caramel. Light floral hops.

    Body is more than the scent implies, the malt is deeper and richer with a touch of caramel sweetness, just a touch, yet the brew remains and finishes rather dry. I get hop effect mostly in the back of the palate and there's certainly enough to balance the malt.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

    This is a fuller version of an amber lager, I'll call it Vienna but don't quote me, that comes across as a higher hopped (28 IBU) version of a Yuengling Traditional Lager and is a better beer for it. Overall it's well balanced, very drinkable and food friendly.

    Since Aprihop is not on DFH's schedule this year...is that last year's batch (I see the "new" embossed bottle and updated artwork)? How is it drinking?
