Clear golden color with white cap.

Aroma of crackery malt and spicy, floral hops.

Flavor of dry, crackery malt with a firm, bright hoppy bitterness. Malt and hops are working as a team here, each alternatively taking the first step forward then quickly joined by the other working in tandem, one first, then the other, yet both together. Firm bitterness all the way but not in a fruit intense form, rather a polished spiciness.

Light medium texture with balancing carbonation.

This is a delightful beer standing on the shoulders of classic European Pilsners.

Braupakt, a collaboration from Weihenstephan and Sierra Nevada. It's a cloudy amber Hefeweizen.
    Cheers!

Checking out All Roads Lead to Centennial DIPA from DuClaw...
Hopped (and dry hopped) with Centennial, 'natch; malt bill consists of 2-Row and Crystal 60; 8% abv with a canning date of 2/21... Unsurprisingly shares some similarities with Two Hearted, having a woody pine character, undertones of dark, dry citrus pith; runs clean but with some shellac... This has some chew to it, a fairly big body, and some resinous sweetness; has a similar bitterness profile to Two Hearted... This isn't as fresh as I'd like, and I found this to be merely decent - not particularly what I'm looking for in D/IPAs these days, but not bad...

Last night had returned to Taka for Asian fare...

No beer, but some tropical mixed drinks that fucking rocked...
    [IMG] [IMG]
Missus got a "zombie" in that groovy fu manchu-looking glass - light and dark rum, pineapple and orange juice, and triple sec - bit strong for her tastes, so I ended up drinking it; I got a "funky monkey" - rum, banana liquor, and a splash of pineapple juice - while she and I switched our original drink order, I ordered another funky monkey after because it was so good...

I snapped a pic of my appetizer...
Truffle tuna with cubed pineapple and a spicy-sweet sauce - fucking nuts - how they got the rose shape out of the tuna is by wrapping it circularly out from the center... One of the most artistic-looking and best-tasting items I've had...

General Tso's chicken entree was incredible, but no pic...

Did snap a pic of my dessert...
Same thing I had Wednesday, fried green tea ice cream - how beautiful is that?

My interest in UFC 223 has been refreshed as my boy, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is now scheduled to fight Long Island local, Al Iaquinto, from Wantagh, which is like 20 minutes south of me - lol - still pulling for Khabib, but got no qualms with an upset now... Conor McGregor's bullshit is rampant on the internet, and it's shaken up the fight card but nothing that really bothers me when all's said and done - Rose Namajumas is still on to defend the title she took from Joanna Jędrzejczyk, and that was the only other fight-of-interest for me...

    Cheers...

I'd likely agree on wishing the barrel were more integrated (without being able to explain exactly how). Do you think the aging will keep the barrel better and drop the coffee and/or bitterness more? I do think I've liked KBS with a couple months, though I haven't generally felt a year+ has improved (though it has changed) it, overall.

Coconut and bourbon for breakfast. This has me thinking I should make this a thing on Saturday mornings. Tusk&Grain Coconut Stout.

Yeah not a keen on the coffee, once that is stripped away it is a better berr IMHO. I do think many BA Stouts have improved on their original starting point, ditto BCBS....

Ok, I'll take the award for lamest beer of the day so far. Yard mowed, bike tires changed, big ass plant dug out for the wife. Lurking is the Crowler from Kettlehead shared with my buddy for his 62nd birthday yesterday. Thanks again for meeting up @SawDog505!
