BBT: @shawnp Summary: On March 14th, I responded to the shawnp’s ISO/FT post of “ISO BAPL5 4pk 2018. FT: Fat Joe +”. We agreed to the below trade on March 17th and exchanged addresses (I submitted a trade request on BA and it was accepted by shawnp). We were supposed to ship the following week (week of March 19th). --------------------------------------- 4x ba pleas the 5th 4x OH cans ~$20 (both from this past saturdays release) For Fat Joe pulput rock Forager Crowlers (~$20) ---------------------------------------- On March 22nd, I asked if he could ship out today. He responded, “Yup, I can ship asap. I'm on shift the next two days and I'll be in and out” and I responded that I could hold off until he was able to ship. On March 26th, I asked if he could ship. No response on BA. He has not looked at or responded to this conversation since March 22nd. On March 29th, I texted him if everything was okay. He responded “Yup we’re good. Forager has not crowlered anything in two weeks. They are releasing hops and a pastry stout today. I apologize for the lack of communication. I’ve been busy at work and home with the kids but that’s no excuse.” I said no worries. Just trying to ship that same day as you as everything is already packed and ready to go on my end. He responded that he is heading out for Assassin day and will pick up the crowlers along the way. On April 5th, texted him if he could ship over the weekend and, if he was able, I could ship that day. No response. This was about 11 minutes after his last response on the below post. No response. *He posted another ISO/FT post, “CB Weekday set 18’ + FT: Assassin 18/Forager crowler”, on April 5th. April 7th, sent him a text notifying that I would start a bad trade thread if no response. He responded, “Feel free to start a bad trade thread if you like. You aren’t out anything and neither am I. I conducted myself poorly in this trade and basically backed out without say. My personal business has taken a front seat and that’s my fault. Heck, I even started another trade thread a few days ago that I realized I hadn’t come through on. Thank goodness no one accepted my trade. They may be in the same boat as you. Sorry man. Really.” I am a very big proponent that life>beer but IMO his actions and words are not consistent. I am not saying shawnp is lying, just that his actions are not aligning with his words. He had time to go to Assassin Day, posted another ISO/FT post on BA, and, according to @dmbforever, has also been on Facebook trying to make trades during the same time frame. All while ignoring my messages until I said I would start a BBT thread.
All of the above is correct and as I replied to his text, I mishandled this entire trade. It’s my fault entirely. I am in the wrong entirely.
This is pretty much a first for how cut and dry this is. And I think this is the first time on a bad trader thread since rule was changed to allow bad feedback even if nothing is sent will actually happen in this case.
@shawnp Are you going to complete the trade as agreed upon? Your trade partner has his boxed, set to go, and is waiting on you. Please let us know.
While the OP is not actually out any beer. It appears that he held on to some OH cans since March 14. Those cans are now "old" in some people's eyes. A 4 pack he could have traded is now diminished in value.
I had a similar experience with @shawnp. We agreed on a trade on Feb 17th (that he posted). We were shooting for IP and both dates he stated that we would meet he didn't make it and never messaged me. He has not messaged me back since March 13th and continues to post other trades. Just message me back dude.
Reading this makes me happy I didn't agree to a trade with him that I was thinking about going through on.
His FOb3 for my BA Lord Humungus x2. We did not set a specific place. He gave me two dates when he would be in the cities. Never heard anything from him either time.
I know bad trader tag is on his profile, but his trading % is 100%. @Sporeg , can you leave appropriate feedback.
I can. Was hoping he would answer @dmbforevers final request to ship but, at this point, it seems unlikely.
But would it do any good? If he doesnt put a rating for me, won’t it just go away after a period of time (forget how long)?
@dmbforever , it's been suggested in past that this loophole needs to be closed, but I can't remember if it was or not. It used to be 6 months, even if loophole isn't closed you should still leave feedback.
Locking the thread up, as it appears the trader in question is good with having a *bad trader* tag on his account permanently. He has been tagged numerous times to reply with no response. Oh well...
