i have a cereal killer. It was relatively cheap compared to the other options with a decent enough sized hopper for my grain bills, I have also attached a cheap 1/2" corded drill to it. Much better crush than I would get from my LHBS.

    Yes

If I wasn't clear it didn't impact anything in the milling. Just was pointing it out so if it happens it isn't a surprise

That's a nice price for a 3 roller mill! Still haven't had any issues with my cereal killer so I won't be upgrading anytime soon.

    Thanks.
I finally got fed up with the LHBS POS. Cheapest Wal Mart 12v drill never charged, if available at all. Gap perpetually out of adjustment. I just couldn't take it anymore. Hoping for the best here.

As an aside, most of my recipes seem to include 10 pounds of base grain with half pound or 1 pound additions of special malts. Because it's near impossible to measure say 7.5# pilsen malt and 0.75# of something else. Recipes were getting really boring and predictable!
    Cheers.

Same here. The BC shaft bent and the rollers stopped grabbing the grain.I'm going to gap and keep it for small grains like rye. I read a trick to set the gap was to run a piece of solder through then measure with a caliper because some rollers move. Also seen some folks remove the third roller and just use 2.Should have on friday. gl

How is the Victoria unit holding up, and how long have you owned it?

I like it a lot and would buy it again. I connect a drill to the roller and was concerned the chuck will strip the metal rod. This happened to the mill at LHBS, which is why i bought my own. Not a problem so far.

It turns whole grain into crushed grain rather well.
    Cheers

Love it. It's well built and mills great. Easy to adjust settings. I use around .042. I'm not sure if the 11 lb capacity is correct. Seems a little smaller. The shaft is just under 1/2" and has a triangle end shape for drills.I use a lithium ryobi on speed 1.

    Sorry for the late response.

I think around 6-7 years, still use it and it does all I want. Worth mentioning again that you do need to watch the grind as you change malts. If you brew a lot, it will become second nature and it's a easy adjustment as you grind. If that is not what u want to do, do not buy the mill. Buy one of the above mentioned mills that have set rollers.
