Writing a review is a big step for some members and I think a dislike feature would dissuade some from making that first step.

I want to add to the thought of community harmony... A "dislike" option for reviews [and forum posts] can have the opposite impact on trollish behavior. Trolls feed on others' dislike. Only allowing "likes" fosters more positive interactions and cuts off a source of nourishment for trollish behavior, which improves the entire community.

I don't see the value of a "dislike" button, but I do see potential harm. Olfactory and gustatory perceptions are simply too subjective and a "dislike" button would open the door to divisiveness. If you disagree with a review, write one that says something to the contrary. I'm am frequently surprised by how high (or low) the ratings are for something I have tried and I simply say so.

I agree with everyone that a dislike button on reviews (and in general) is a bad idea ... but then I read reviews that don't really describe the beer in any useful way but include lines like: "who in there right mind would drink this crap", "Only an asinine fool would like this beer", or "Are you people on this page smoking too much dope or something? or maybe Guiness is paying you off to these reviews. I don't know what your deal is. How the heck can you give this a good score." and then I think that maybe a dislike button ain't such a bad idea ...
