Chugging Craft Beer: Why?

sounds to me a lot like the whole spraying expensive bottles of champagne all over the club just cause. Just letting everybody know you have money and no fucks.

This is mildly psychedelic and a totally different experience of what a hot pepper can be fyi. I've done a habanero a few different times and fun isn't exactly the right word there is something there. Plus all the shock value, bro cred bs that goes along with the chugging and other general excessive dumbassery

 

Surprised that another can vs bottle argument hasn’t broken out.

Cans are clearly superior because they can be shotgunned

 

My time-frame for leaving the crib this afternoon suddenly changed, so I absolutely chugged the F out an Odell IPA... like literally had taken a small sip then finished the rest.

Did I have to? No.
Could I have thrown the open can back in the fridge? Yes.
Did I think it would have tasted better 6 hours later from said fridge? Not Really.
Was it my second beer? Yes.
How'd I do it? Big balls? Yes.
Do I care what anyone think? No.

 

This absolutely would have saved me 10 seconds.

 

I remember a thread a few years ago where Todd assured us that getting buzzed was a big part of our beer experience (or something like that, and I had to agree). Of course there are many other fine aspects to this hobby; maybe those chuggers just haven't figured them out yet

Quite ok! Nothing wrong with putting away a fine refreshing brew in little time if it’s that enjoyable to you. Totally different ballpark from chugging however.

 

They were most likely chugging as a chaser to a Tide Pod..... *Cheers*

 

I mean I don't savor every craft beer I drink. If it something special or new, sure. But often I just want to drink a beer. I probably drink some too fast but yeah I have never chugged a craft beer. I mean even if I drank a bud i probably wouldn't chug it these days. Age, maturity? Maybe... Or Maybe it's just stupid..

 

The thing to consider is whether they chug craft when nobody is looking. If they do, then that's up to them for whatever reasons they have. But - they're doing it publicly for attention, to create dismay or outrage, and to fly in the face of common sense. After they can't create enough of a stir about beer, perhaps they'll become religious or political zealots.

 

Why not? Let people do what they want.

 

I can't remember this guys name... pretty sure this guy ingests things on dares on social media. He's eaten rolls of toilet paper before. He probably pooped rope for a week.

 

This always makes me think of an episode of Drinking Made Easy when they stopped by Stone, and to the horror of Greg Koch, Steve McKenna chugs 4 beers. The video is long and the chugging part is towards the end. I know he was doing it for the show. Didn't realize people did that for real.

 

When he held his arms up in victory after chugging that flight I imagined him holding a sign that read, "Clap For The Idiot"

 

I think there's a combination of tools wanting to "prove" themselves, tools wanting social media attention, and tools just being tools.

While I wanted to like this, if there's people that down an entire bottle of Black Tuesday in a "chug" fashion (let's be honest, that guy is definitely saying he's "solo doming" it), you know there's someone that pulled a cool hand Luke with twinkies, or some nonsense, instead of eggs. There's also a great cool hand Luke reference in Malcolm in the Middle where Francis does that very thing with peeps. Someone argues "The body literally can't process that much glucose!"

Anyway, that seems like the fastest way to get diabetes, although perhaps not alcohol poisoning.

Funny story: My health teacher in high school told us a story about how he had to get his stomach pumped one night from sitting down and eating a bucket of gummy worms from Sam's club in one sitting. Something like a 3-5lb bucket. Oye.
