Gives whole new meaning to the phrase "hopped up".

@rozzom the key is all the "hopping" occurs outside of the kettle and is cold-side, thus ensuring proper cloudiness

@frozyn I hear it cures altitude sickness as well

Looking to hit up a few Brooklyn breweries tomorrow for the wife's birthday. I tried to search for Sixpoint's hours, but couldn't find anything on BA, the website, or the app. I understand there's a release tomorrow morning - not looking to wait in line or anything, but would in the area around 3 with some friends. Could someone let me know what the hours are tomorrow, and how crowded the brewery usually gets in the afternoon of a release day?

The release tomorrow will go from 10am until 4pm. The weather is looking like its going to be the best it has been all year...so it should have some nice vibes in the courtyard.

If you have not done so already, download the app and make a purchase for one of the totes. It will give you a QR code receipt and you can walk in - there will be plenty of beers on tap and others to try/purchase once you're inside.

btw @NewmansOwn @mumbles44 @SeanEDPBK @HeyLady @kthoag are you planning on coming down tomorrow? we're assembling a Posse (no pun intended) at the barrel-stammtisch for a sneak preview of May and June releases....

    Had a fine time at Haymaker with @rozzom , @ScottKramer , @Sixpoint , @jrnyc , @frozyn , and others.

I'm flattered and humbled that someone with such stature and legacy in craft beer, and with such a busy schedule took time to indulge the trolls, but I don't think learned a whole lot. I did learn that headbrewer Eric is probably one of the nicest, most generous people in craft beer. Also, as @Sixpoint has said, there are many interesting to come in the future as per beers, (genuine) collaborations, and other fun things!

It sounds like Sixpoint is actively trying to measure how much cognitive bias affects the way beer is rated by comparing various ratings, both from those they know to be fans and from those unaware that they're drinking Sixpoint beer (via somewhat controlled experiments). As one with some background in stats, I'm not convinced it's close to optimal and I don't think they can claim what they intend, but I would still be quite interested to learn of the results. I think anybody making claims from said experiment will have to be abundantly careful what exactly it is that their results indicate.

My favorite thing learned is that the time I started to move on from Trillium seems to have coincided fairly closely from when Eric moved on. Maybe that's the best sign for me that I'll be drinking more of these beers in the future!

    Nope, just being courteous!

Edit: My post was far too short and contain too few quotes to be mistaken for having been got! I'm just paying courtesy where courtesy is due!

Regrettably, I missed this month's drop again and all of the beers are sold out in the app. I'm with my buddy from out of town and we are both dig Sixpoint.

Even though we didn't grab any of the presale beers, are we still able to show up to the taproom and drink? Also, is the taproom 40 Van **** St, Brooklyn, NY?

    Cheers,
    Mike

Download the app before you go, buy the tote bags which are still on sale, use the QR code to gain entry and buy beer on tap while you are in there. The tap room is open just for these can releases and generally just for people who buy through the app.

Yeah if you want to stop by, you'll probably want to come by between 2-4pm if that works in your timeframe

swing over around 1pm, that's right when most of the people show up and its an optimal time to break out some of the future formulations - how will we know its you? you can send a PM or email if you want to contact us

    stop by and say hi

loaded with sugar and will make you run through the brick walls

"I'm flattered and humbled that someone with such stature and legacy in craft beer, and with such a busy schedule took time to indulge the trolls, but I don't think learned a whole lot."

Looks like our first meeting was largely limited to exchanging pleasantries. Perhaps if Eric, Mikey, and I muster up enough wisdom or brewing proficiency we will one day hope to actually stimulate you. :nerd:

"I did learn that headbrewer Eric is probably one of the nicest, most generous people in craft beer."

He also is the most technically proficient brewer in craft beer I've ever worked with, but more importantly, he exudes the type of culture we want to build upon at the brewery and our product development team. I'm glad you hit it off, and I think if we can do another meetup in May sometime we could go even deeper into the technical side of things, with a heavy emphasis on the NE style.

"Also, as @Sixpoint has said, there are many interesting to come in the future as per beers, (genuine) collaborations, and other fun things!"

We'll leave the "genuine collaborations" can-of-worms unopened for now, but yes, we are most definitely looking forward to pushing the boundaries on some upcoming formulations and brewing collaborations with some like-minded folks. Eric & Mikey already have a pipeline of stuff planned from now until the end of the year. Oh, and its not just a scheme for us to liquidate old hop inventory.

"As one with some background in stats, I'm not convinced it's close to optimal"

As with any software or even beer formulations themselves, it is always a continuous improvement process. If you have any suggestions or want to collaborate on ideas as to how we can make the process more objective and generate the least biased results, we'd love to hear about it.

"My favorite thing learned is that the time I started to move on from Trillium seems to have coincided fairly closely from when Eric moved on. Maybe that's the best sign for me that I'll be drinking more of these beers in the future!"

Dang, just when we are planning on launching a wave of exotic sour beers, fruited beers, stouts, lagers, and milkshakes.....I don't think any of this will interest you if its not double dry hopped with Citra and Galaxy!

Or, Rob is an honorable and polite person who decided to forge an actual relationship instead of limiting it to back-and-forth bickering from behind a computer screen.

But if you'd like to come down, the password is Beelzebub and don't forget your goat leggings.

The "bickering" has led to the most informative and entertaining posts in these threads. Without them the threads pretty much boil down to weather reports.
