It's been a La Cumbre dominated type of day.. That tends to happen a lot

First up. Their seasonal release of their Helles Lager (first time in cans) from a few weeks back.

Not a whole lot out there to compare it to (maybe just Weihenstephaners Original as a prime example). It started off a bit on a crackery biscuit flavor perspective, with just a little initial sweetness. Glad to say this finished with almost all malt sweetness. Super clean and easy to drink. These guys know their IPAs and German styles. It's super subtle and maybe forgettable, But I liken this to their regular lager offering, BEER. Same sort of flavors. Not earth shattering. But with a clean palate, nothing tastes off or terrible. A win in my book. IBUs or a hop taste at a true minimum here.

Next up was a Feburary release of their single hop series, Centennial beer, Go for Broke.

I kind of let some older cans sit longer than I expected. Interesting flavors coming out here. I want to say its a bit abrasive with some IBUs kicking through initially. But it has a sense of being peppery, or minty with a slight edge of being piney and slightly sweet. Very hard to describe for a 2 month old can offering. Its manageable but even when fresh, a centennial single hop type of beer was their least popular, and likely for good reason.

As an FYI, La Cumbre started a couple months back with a Single hop Double dry hopped series, first starting with Mosaic, then onto Citra, and finally Centennial. They surprised us on 3/10/18 with a fourth, an all encompassing IPA featuring all three, called All In. It sounded amazing on paper and it followed through.

This one is what dreams are made out of. I was just recently in VT for a week visiting some family and tried my best to get my hand on some VT DIPAs. I flew out there with All in on my mind, and my entire trip, I continued to ponder if anything could come close. This ones a stunner. Nothing came close.

Overripe mango and pineapple type aromas. Flavors follow through flawlessly for a beer that never feels like its ever reaching 8.5%. The aroma matched the taste, even some 5 weeks since canning. No abrasive IBUs like Go for broke is presenting itself with.

Overall, its been a great Saturday. I may go with a classic for a night cap, Elevated IPA

Woke up from my nap, cracked a high west victory at sea and started up dinner. Pretty chill day waiting out the crappy weather.

One of my local shops went through 12 cases of this beer in less than four days. KBS and CBS are still available, but this is gone. One of the best smelling beers of the year.

Hard Rock Cafe - Washington D.C. All I know is it's from Wicked Weed, the bartender can't answer the question as to which one it is exactly. :grimacing:  :flushed: They grasped at straws and said it's an IPA. I call their bluff because this is screaming Belgian Witbier. :innocent:

Either way, we both agree it's from Wicked Weed and I'm down with that.

    Prost!

They soak for just a few hours so they're much quicker than pickled eggs. It's basically like the eggs that are used in ramen.

Seemingly that this day turned into a proper beer consumption day, I would say that it is a rather wild
    weekend.
Therefore, Toneshifterz- Wild Wild Weekend is appropriate.

Another beer that I absolutely love. Thank you sir.

So far the temperature has dropped 37 degrees in the last 5 hours. That is normal, right?

Just put on a live Springsteen show from 1988 in L. A. @vabeerguy it starts of with these 3:
