Lmao I was just about to quote his thread too. y’all are trying so hard to hype this beer up. It’s laughable, I’m sure it’s a fantastic stout but the attempts to protect the trade value are pathetic. The last time I saw something like this was when pappy board meeting was released (a fuckin brown ale nonetheless) and two guys kept posting ISO’s for big beers and they would simultaneously comment on each other’s posts saying “super generous offer” for some shit like assassin or SR71.

So you saying you never trade beer? I don't see nothing wrong w/ sending good beer out and good beer back in return. People in glass house should not be throwing stones!!

That’s not what he’s saying,There’s nothing wrong with trading beer,or being a ticker and trying to get a good bottle but it’s the disingenuous nature being put forth by you and @Sinhoptra. We all know what you guys are doing, it’s obvious that’s why we call you guys out. Just be real, you ain’t gotta lie to kick it.

Disingenuous? Care to explain that? Also what are we exactly doing here that’s so obvious?

How we are not being real, we had the beer (PM) we love it and we shout it out. What is wrong w/ that, if you never had it and hate on it, isn't that worse?

I’m sure they think the pm’s that closed 1:1 with ba pbm & Ba sump has something to do with us being disingenuous! Lol bunch of jump offs. Take your bickering trade police asses else where

I think everyone tends to overhype their local beers. PM is fantastic though. I may trade one of my bottles but more to hook up someone who has sent me great stouts in the past.

Trade YOUR beers for whatever YOU feel is fair. So many people want to give their opinion...just enjoy the beers and stop the bickering

Trading isn't what was under attack. It was the attempt at passing off hype as genuine praise. Folks are so invested in their narratives that they don't realize their contributions to the hype game.

For what it's worth, traders in other regions have used this strategy to gain leverage in the trade market. While I don't agree with this approach, I really can't begrudge California traders who do the same as our beers tend to be undervalued with the exception of a select few.

I’ll be the one to say it. Pastry method was just ok. I would rather drink a sump. Let alone a BA sump.

What everyone is specifically talking about is the usual tactics for hyping a beer...ie making sure everyone knows its 2pp, trying to pin a low bottle count to it even though it wasn't officially announced, saying that you aren't gonna trade them (and you heard others werent trading them either!!!) ...then turning around and putting up an auction style trade asking for "BIG STOUTS". It's just funny watching the blatant hypebeasting.

I'm sure its a awesome beer, Derek makes some awesome stouts. But saying you are trying to spread the love and also trying to maximize a beer's value are not the same thing.

I totally get it. Some highly rated beers aren’t for everyone . This is one of them for you.

Mine is a angry chair stout.
    Igcccs was ok, borderline meh.
Ba pbm pop, Ba awakening, were both good but not great like pm.
We all have our opinions. And that’s all that it is, a opinion.

Again, I'm not asking for monster tones or SR-71. A few had offer big poppa which is a great beer, I'm see
I guess we have to agree to disagree on this one, but one thing for sure Derek is an awesome talent and I'm looking forward for many great stouts from him and Moksa, cheers !

Im hoping the members get a bottle of the BA version when that comes out, that will probably be the only way I get to try this at this point. Im surprised a non ba beer has gotten so much hype, but than again im not

I am a big fan of what Moksa has done so far.....but.....

It is all hype/fomo driving in this particular thread. In just a couple of days this topic has almost as many replies as the MAIN MOKSA thread that has been opened for a few months https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...wing-co-rocklin-sacramento-2018.554304/page-2 . And that is after only a few tasters of this particular beer...haha!!! The over hyping on untappd as now reached comical levels. 4.71? Really??? This will be just like Thicc Nibbs or Bisco Party, after more widespread reviews, the ratings will drop down,

I am sure Pastry Method will be a good NON-BA Stout. Worth camping out overnight for or making a new thread........ probably not. Have fun though. To each their own.

After the Saturday release this thread will probably be dead after the hype goes away. Surprised no Moderator has closed it already. Even Bottle Logic is not getting individual threads for one particular Stout. The Pacific Forum would be a disaster if EVERY new release had it's own topic.....

Non BA pastry stouts are pretty much Derek's specialty - if there's anything worth hyping, it's going to be this.

I like that you put it like PM will probably be a good non BA stout but you also Saud its all hype, ok. I assume you haven't try it yet, if you did you would not compare this to Thicc .. Imo PM is the best non BA stout out there along GNS, MD b4 and IGCCS..
