Has anything had this as well as Firestone (Helles style) Lager? Firestone Lager is really good but I'm not expert on Helles styled beers.

already did...they blew out of the draft lightning fast, and the cases are about 2/3 gone at this point. If you'd like any help tracking it down you can send us a PM, cheers

Ok, so I finally snagged this bad boy, last 12 pack at the store (or maybe the only one, it was a small fridge).

I've had four so far, but I can't comment with too much confidence as I'm getting over a sinus infection. I definitely get the "Helles/Pilsner" hybrid comments, but I'm going to save my true judgement until I get over the sinus infection.

Love the cans though. Love the fact that they're 12 oz. even more.

My only gripe about the cans is the box is kind of wide and takes up more room in my fridge. Of course, I could also remove the cans from the box, in which case they'll take up minimal space due to the design. There's also a part of me that doesn't give a Helles.

Initial thoughts are that I did like it, but it didn't have that classic Helles-taste to it. I did go to a cask ale festival this weekend as well, and I could definitely pick up enough flavors to make a snap judgement.

For example, Jack's Abby had their Dinkel Herb on cask, and it was wonderful. So I could pick up enough flavors to know I enjoyed the heck out of that lager. I also had Founder's Solid Gold on draft that day, and that was actually quite good for an adjunct lager.

But the flavors from Pils malt can really become muddled for me as my palate becomes fried. So trying to judge a Helles after drinking other beers and/or having a sinus infection isn't fair to the beer.

When you revisit the beer, I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it.

None showing in Pittsburgh either. Though we just started getting Sixpoint a few months ago so maybe we won’t get. The app doesn’t show any Sixpoint in the Pittsburgh area but I know that isn’t true.

Guess I’ll have to settle for more Crisp and Righteous Rye.

    Hi Randy,

I saw your post and immediately called the GM of our wholesaler.

Actually, the Alpenflo in Pittsburgh sold out very quickly. All of the full-size kegs are gone, and there are only a couple of the 1/6 bbls left. The 12-packs are also nearly sold out.

I have put in a request for an account listing and as soon as he shares that with me, I will post it. Apologies on the BeerFinder, but our PGH wholesaler is one that does not report the data so it does not populate the database. I'll have to retrieve the info manually.

    cheers

Is the web based beer finder disabled? I can't find a link to it anymore; just a link to download the app.

I inquired with our tech team - here was the response,

"Yeah....its down for clean up and wanted to see if it pushed app downloads...will be finishing maintenance soon and reactivating!"

Thanks. I have the app but prefer the greater flexibility and look/feel of the web interface.

Thank you! Very impressive how much time and energy you put into tracking down beer for us.

That does not surprise me about the PA wholesalers though.

I actually dug around recently looking for the beer finder but it was quite difficult to find. I'm not downloading an app to find beer when a website should work just fine. BTW still no Alpenflo for off premeise near me but I do see 6 packs of core beers. I am a bit concerned by the pilsner like feedback I'm reading here.

Don't want to be rude here, but you are well known for disliking the local scene of IPAs, now there is by all accounts a world-class beer in an under-hyped, under appreciated style being made by a local brewery and you are still doing a lot of complaining. Feels like there is no pleasing you. The level of customer service displayed in this thread is pretty extraordinary. Maybe someone from Sixpoint can deliver right to your door and pour it in the glass for you.

FWIW, I had no problem finding it. Still have a couple cans left in the fridge.
