That would be great. Last year's was so sweet I couldnt get through a few ounces. The 12 oz bottle I had a few years ago was way better. I hope they've returned to form.

This is 100% fact as I was there and witnessed it. This guy offered me the kid's ticket. My buddy and I laughed at the amount he wanted. About a dozen or so people behind me he got a taker. Paid in cash and they went back to their spot in line with the new "friend."

Let's be honest though, neither of these arrangements (using a homeless person or your - or someone's - teenage son) is an admirable place to be IMO. So trying to advocate which one is 'worse' is an exercise in futility. I waited 8 hours in that line and only got regular and barley. Monumental waste of my time and an epic cluster of a morning for sure. But I still feel like I came out ahead of that tool. Beer or no beer.

Do you think Perrin decided No Distribution before or after talking to the Detroit mule. If they talked to the mule first, brilliant, they saved themselves distributor fee.

Side note, I wonder what they sell to the distributor for. Store around the corner (from Perrin) was selling 2017 for a dollar less than Perrin was selling 2018, on release day. Distributor marking up to retailer, retailer marking up to customer, still cheaper than 2018. They must sell to distributor for about $12/bottle. Breweries that sell on sight make a killing...makes me rethink the “protecting the brand” to “we just wanted to make a shitload more money”.

Plus, maybe he crossed over into another state to pick up a truckload of empties to return in Michigan on Friday. He could pretty much retire on all that deposit and Perrin redistro cash, right? NO RULEZ!!!!!

It can't be that high, at least it doesn't seem like it could. Meijer was selling no rules for $12.99 or $13.99 last year. I would suspect more like $7-8/bottle they charge the distributor. I'm sure someone closer to store/distribution could correct me @ypsifly.

This community activist can't even put on matching shoes and he's suppose to distro 1,560 bottles of beer?

Yea look at a place like side project. I know that the beers they make take significant resources but when you have hundreds of people in line dropping 240$ each on a case of fuzzy the numbers get real high real quick. Obviously its not all profit but the numbers are staggering.

Howard Shultz getting me a cup of espresso is a favor, him opening thousands of locations to sell me a cup of espresso is a business....

Probably dropped a pallet of KBS on his foot last shipment. But I agree, this would be more interesting if we found out he is some sort of Robin Hood making ends meet to cover his rising medical costs....

    Didn't miss it.

However, the lack of distro after having saturated certain markets in previous years is weird as hell, to say the very least, and doesn't change the fact that NE Ohio has been drowning in No Rules over the past two years, with kegs all over the place and bottles sitting on shelves. Hell, I can go East right now and buy some of last year's bottles because no one wants to spend that much money on a single bottle in that area.

If not for the completely absurd antics of this supermule, Perrin would likely be sitting on pallets of No Rules for the rest of the year.

This supermuling seems like more of a pain in the ass than trading, for all involved, by a wide margin. Most of the trades I saw for No Rules were IP, and weren't any kind of hard ask.

I seriously can not comprehend the reason anyone would be willing to give their time to mule 1500 bottles of anything that isn't KBBS, whatever the cost or payoff. This effort is far and beyond off the deep end.

Out of one side of your mouth is:
"At least this guy is doing something to help out the community."

Then, the other side of your mouth says:
"Meanwhile, there are people paying homeless people in Florida to get extra pastry stouts."

How can you prop up a community activist and simultaneously express disdain for homeless people actively doing something for themselves to earn money? That's exploitation?! You'd rather homeless people not help themselves, and pass up legitimate, legal opportunities to make money? You'd rather the unpaid privileged volunteers continue to treat them like casualties of war and spoon feed them in order to maintain the feels about their lives?

Whatever your reasoning, I'm not sure how you can have a problem with Angry Chair while defending Perrin or the absurd actions of a supermule. It's two sides of the same pastry coin. :poop:

I just don't understand why people think this is some sort of super effort. He picked up and drove a truck a few hours. He waited in the same line he would have waited in for 1 case or 200 cases. If everything was prepaid and they had a meeting time and place set up it probably took them less than an hour to hand it out. Is it ridiculous? Sure. Was is some sort of superhuman effort? No.

Jury is still out on Superhuman effort til we get an update on the foot. If it was suffered while fighting in The Kumite or throwing some sort of roundhouse kick, then that could be a game changer. If its frostbite from waiting in line, not so much.

I don't know what Perrin charges my distributor, but if it helps my cost is $11.25 per bottle.

I just realized that none of us have brought up a key point:

We are all suggesting/supposing based on various aspects that Perrin will/is not sitting on pallets of this stuff. This is obviously a falacy if they made as much as last time by the following:

If this guy purchased even 20% more than everyone in his group purchased last year - from visiting or from distribution - there's no way enough people showed up and bought enough to compensate for all the distribution this beer saw. All this guy did was buy the same ammount at the brewery as everyone would have purchased last year (at brewery +distro). There's no (or very little) change in how much was purchased.

This would have to mean they have pallets left if they made the same as last year.
