Buncha late risers!!! I’m almost six hours into Day 1 of my London vacation and needed some refreshment:
Nicholson’s pale on cask at The Old Bell Tavern on Fleet Street, where I also had a hearty lunch:
beef and bone marrow pie (NOT on my normal life menu but very proper for vacation :stuck_out_tongue:)

Did three hours at St. Paul’s. Now off to the BM to work up another thirst.

Thanks @Ozzylizard for the CAMRA tip. The pub culture here is incredible and it’s cool seeing good beer being so highly valued.

    Cheers!

P.S. Not trying to make you jealous, @hopsputin! I’ll try to drink enough for both of us.:scream::crazy_face:

    Double cheers!!

I felt like I earned my beer this morning by first taking my young children to the dentist. It took about 20 minutes total for the visit. It takes a special person to do what you do for a living.

Yet another German IPA brewed exclusively with German hops, this time from a small local brewery as well. This one is dry-hopped with Callista and Hallertau Blanc and quite nice. Unusual flavour profile, with notes of stone fruit and berries, but nicely balanced.

It's getting downright hot in southern Germany! Currently 81 degrees! Nothing better than a big imperial stout on a hot day! Cheers!

@Premo88 spent some time in London with the wife many years ago and had a great time. Also had some meals uncommon to my daily palate. Sitting on a pub drinking English ale with fish and chips was always fun. Hope you have a great trip and post some nice pjcs

Kudos the craft beer marketing for making it acceptable to drink 10%+ ABV stouts in the AM !!

Beavertown Lupuloid IPA. This canned version is much more cloudy compared to the draft version I had some months ago in London.

@Premo88 , I can recommend The Drafhouse in London when you see one. I've only been to their location at Tower Bridge Road (on the South bank from Tower Bridge). I understood they have more locations. Many great beers on tap and plenty of interesting bottles.
Can't miss it, see picture below.
    Cheers all!

Thanks! The food options in London span the globe, but so far I’ve stuck with English favorites. Plan on branching out as we go.

You can’t take photos inside St. Paul’s but you can sneak a pic of the treacherous stairways:
That’s just a few of the 500-plus steps you have to climb to reach the golden gallery, where you can snap pics:
London Eye wheel in middle on horizon
    [IMG]
Millineum Bridge (The Globe on left across the Thames)

So worth that climb. More beer pics coming in a few ...

You absolutely should. We have to get ready for a long day of MLB games.

Yes, it is just about noon and I am on my second beer but I am cutting the lawn and dealing with fireants as well.
