New Glarus Brewing (2018)

Am I still allowed to bring my own beer to drink on the patio or did they stop allowing that? Heading up there for Madison craft beer week.

 

Pretty sure the days of bottle sharing/outside beer at NG are over.

Maybe someone else has a definitive answer.

 

I was at Total Wine yesterday, and the rep was there. He said Total Wine will have Strawberry Rhubarb on Friday.

 

Dig back on the NG Facebook page; all outside alcohol is now prohibited on NG grounds.

I believe it was a combo of people not cleaning up after themselves, and some knuckle heads getting in a fight in the courtyard that led to this decision.

 

Did they ever futher clarify that after last year's GTMW weekend shares in the parking lot? I know they weren't letting anyone take outside liquor up to the bier garten but it didn't seem like they were policing the parking lot sharing.

It was at the Sour Porter release IIRC. What I heard was 2 of the local homebrew clubs almost got in a fistfight over someone not bringing beer to share... or some other such nonsense.

 

All bottlesharing on NG grounds prohibited as of September of last year.

 

Hey guys! What time does the bottle share usually start then?

 

6:00 am on the dot. I'm bringing a couple cases of BLK BERRY Steel Reserve (It has been aging 3 years in my cellar), brass knuckles, and a butterfly knife.

 

Okay cool, I have a bunch of La Croix and I've been wanting to spread the love.

I just wanted to verify though, because I don't think this has been covered yet, but are bottle shares still allowed?

 

Yes, but to share bottles you have to tie wrists together, with another share attendee, and do battle, while the Careys blast Michael Jackson's "Beat It" over a PA system.

 

That's nice, but when will they start distributing outside Wisconsin? Don't they want to expand?!?!?!

Sounds like a hell of a share. I'll be there pouring bottles of TG stouts refilled with Guinness while insisting it's KBBS & Assassin just to make everyone angry because I really just want to beat some ass at the Bier Garten.

 

SR is limited in this weeks drop but it'll still be available for several months.

 

Going to Woodmans and the tourist trap known as Mars on Saturday. Think SR will be available?

 

I plan on calling this weekend or early next week.
