Is that like a cross between a hangover and hiccups?

Nailed it. On the other hand, Firestone's Pivo Pils (which is more hopped) and Founders' PC Pils (a bit more hoppy) work for me.

That's not controversial - they deserve to be unappreciated.

That first one hearkens back to what SNPA is still. It was groundbreaking, eye-opening, a labor of love, somewhat daring, but most of all refreshing with big pure pleasure! It was and still is. I always keep it around, no matter what.

True but how many don't tip or drop a $1 for a round.

I hate the expectation that you need to tip everyone for everything.

I get an uber , I pay , why do I tip you. What did you do over and above my ride?

My trash men make a better living than me I bet, my neighbors tip them at the holiday. I lay a lot for trash removal and it's gone every week.

I do tip bartenders /servers as I know they get nothing. I also go in knowing that whatever I buy I will need to add 20% on top not including tax. I don't go out often as I don't want to pay as much for 4 pints as I would for a case of beer and tip on top of that.

    Enjoy

Which is lower than in my state. Which is what bartenders, servers, hosts make. And still, we are allowed to express our gratitude for a job well done by throwing them a couple bucks, or we can express our displeasure by not throwing them a couple bucks. Very democratic, no? Oh, wait, y'all still have "Royals", whose only skill is genetics, go ahead, tell us more about how advanced y'all are, please.

I agree with you on a lot of things, and you bring an interesting perspective to these forums, but, man, you need to finally grasp that we kicked y'alls asses out a couple centuries ago, and we are our own place, no longer your "Colonies". This is how it is here; we tip. You bow to the Crown. Different strokes for different folks.

I love tipping I was teaching my 5 year old daughter how to do the "no thumb handshake" and that you always tip the valet Parker on the way in. Proud of how quickly she picked it up.

It's funny cuz I think the exact opposite.

I think you're jesting, but it does irk me when people say "You only pretend to like X." I frankly love most European styles, obscure or not, a lot more than NEIPAs (and I love NEIPAs, too).

I tip the trash guys every Christmas. They have a tough job and it just seems like the right thing to do.

Sumatra brown is a damn good beer. Not a big shorts fan, but their brown is pretty good. Dogfish heads palo santo marron is decent. Sometimes browns hit the spot.

    Really?

Yes, there are lots of good brown ales--and they don't have to be imperial with lots of flavorings added, either.

Agreed, I cut my teeth on newcastle. I still wouldn't turn one down either.

If Founders was going to offer offering any barrel aged options year round my last choice of all the options would be Backwoods Bastard.

I'm boring so I'd probably say KBS. I like Backwoods Bastard but I don't like it enough to see it all year round. I would prefer something like Doom or Frootwood as well

BB was ok, but Doom was a drain pour for me. I cringed when I took my first sip.

Yes, really. While I'll drink Newkie Brown if nothing else is available, brown ales in general are nearly flavorless rusty water abominations, at least as produced in here in the States. Now in June, when I'm back in the UK for a couple of weeks, I'll certainly try the local bitters, browns, and whatever is on cask.
