    I went to Iceland in the summer of 2002. I flew out of Minneapolis. Never before, or since then, have I been as excited about anything, or have had anything exceed very high expectations, as happened with that trip. Having said that, I was not very excited about this beer, and it was not really that good. Surly is boring without Todd Haug. Here is Icelandic hip hop that I listened to obsessively, before and after my trip to Iceland. It still gives me chills when I listen to it, as it takes me right back to the feelings of overwhelming excitement that I felt for that trip.

    It's Friday and time to get rockin . . .

    Light yellow color with white cap.

    Aroma of light grain and herbal, flowery, citrus hops.

    Taste is a mixture of the hop scents in about equal amounts with enough grain presence to support them. Aftertaste brings a touch of ripe fruit without actually tasting fruity.

    Light medium texture with balancing carbonation.

    Pleasant, clean, nicely balanced brew that should be suitable for a wide range of uses whenever a beer is called for.

    Holy mole. Remind me not to drink more than 2 Waldos' in one night (again). But hey, it was the eve of 4/20 so I feel justified. Waking up slowly this morning, letting a Friday unfurl...with something from my winter stash. Xocoveza for the win; this may be my favorite Stone beer and one of the few I buy on a regular basis. Cheers!

    Happy Friday! Grabbed this Pirate Noir from an online shop in Belgium. First time trying this one, but I always love Prairie! This is incredible stuff. I really like stouts aged in rum barrels. Cheers!

    You guys had Dexter for the best years, but I was lucky enough to be living in NYC after he came back, and caught some of the shows he and his band did at the Vanguard that remain as favorite musical and human experiences. Nice choice of music!
