Coop Alpha Hive DIPA, Cavs look doomed

- I had heard this was pretty good, so I rolled the dice and bought a six-pack. I've had good experience with Independence in the past.

I really liked the nose and taste, but the look and feel were both dampened by an excessive amount of "stuff" floating around. Not sure if that's by design...

Anyhow, I filtered the floaties out and it was enjoyable enough.

 

Have to say pretty good variant of the Sungazer, the vanilla adds a creamy feel almost like a tropical push up.

You're drinking Half Acre and I'm drinking Pipeworks. Something's amiss.

 

Excellent fruit beer! Great head retention and foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, passion fruit, red apple, strawberry, melon, and hibiscus; with moderate caramel, wheat, lightly toasted bread malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal/floral/grassy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready wheat; light fruit tang/acidity and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing tart/tangy fruit dryness, no cloying sweetness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 6%. Spot on fruit wheat ale, wouldn't change a thing. Big juicy fruit presence, with a nice malt backbone. Really similar to Rubaeus. Will be buying both as my go-to fruit beers now. Both are available year round.


Excellent APA. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with some wheat, cracker, white bready malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; sticky hops with light grainy wheat and resins in the mouthfeel. Moderately crisp and increasingly drying after the finish; no hop astringency. Very bright and dank on hop qualities; and overall quite refreshing. Zero complaints. Need to get this more often. Same with the new Sumpin Easy. Wish they weren't exclusively in 12 packs, but I'll keep grabbing the singles as I see them.
