You'll need to drive/bus/Uber there, but Angry Beaver in Greenwood would be perfect.

I would look at Nickerson St. Saloon, across the Fremont Bridge from Fremont Brewing. More than decent beer/food and sports on TV. You could call them to see if they can put the Canucks on.

Noticed this thread is almost off the main page and someone looking for suggestions couldn't find it, is there anyway we can make it (and the Portland thread) stickied to the top of the first page?

Thanks! I've requested that my other thread be deleted to avoid duplication here for you guys (sorry about that). This is so incredibly helpful.

Any events for this weekend that I should consider? I know 4/20 is approaching and NYC area places are hosting various tap takeovers and events. Can't seem to find anything myself, so figured I'd ask!

Urban Family is having a can release on Saturday, but I noticed you're not checking bags and won't be able to take anything home. You could still stop in and try it on draft.

Machine House's 5th anniversary is Saturday. If you're into English cask ales, you should go.
In addition to Urban Family release, Reuben's is releasing cans (and will certainly have lots to drink on draft) Saturday.

There was actually a discussion at one time about doing this, but I think in the end the bro's decided against it. If memory serves, the feeling was that too many forums would have the front page cluttered up with "semi-permanent" visitor's guide posts, brewery information posts, and so on. Also, it would necessitate having a moderator(s) update the various posts either monthly or quarterly, after first soliciting opinions about any recommended changes.

My impression is that the bro's feel the current status quo arrangement works best. If a thread isn't getting enough hits to stay on the front page (which to be honest, is a much bigger problem in other regions than it is here), then so be it. Someone can ask for information and other members in the region can direct him/her to the appropriate informational thread.

Yeah, that's what is bumping my brain cells as well. Honestly, between the couple dozen of us regulars, we should be able come up with enough stuff to keep it near the front without "bump" posts.

Maybe we need to, collectively, stop enjoying our "scene" for our own purposes, and focus on hyping those McM's cans!

Grabbed a six-pack of the Seattle Beer Week beer at Costco today, Citrus Galaxy by Georgetown. Refreshingly, it's not hazy.

I expect to be drinking a lot of this one. Hope they can keep up with demand.

They sell, mere, lone six-packs at Costco? What mad world is this?

Costco sells single six-packs of Georgetown beers for $8.99, haven't seen this with any other brewery. Lucille is regularly at the Shoreline store and now they've got Citrus Galaxy.

Thanks again to this forum for helping me plan my beer activities for my Seattle trip. Holy Mountain and Urban Family won it for me with their excellent selection this weekend. My friend has only been in Seattle for a few months and hadn't been to Urban Family yet which has now become his favorite in the area.

I only wish I had more time to visit others. Thanks again!

Good to know! Kirkland is my usual Costco, and I’m already going there today, so I’ll keep an eye out. Cheers!

I’m neither a Seattle resident nor a sportsball fan, but what’s so “embarrassing” about the 12? Especially compared to wearing a cheese wedge on one’s head or any of the other ways fans show their fanatacism.

I’m ignorant on the subject and don’t intend to start shit, but the only motif I can conjure about Patriots fans is boorish arrogance and ring counting; maybe there’s a slogan or something else similar to Seattle’s 12 that I’m missing. How is the concept of the fan as a 12th player worse? Serious question.

On-topic post redemption: are any of the Seahawk themed beers still produced, or was that a one year thing? I remember Hilliards had one and they’re gone now, but wasn’t there one from Silver City maybe and one or two others?

Dick's contract brewed 12 Man Pale Ale but it hasn't been made for a couple years. We used to Randall cans of that through Skittles during the playoffs/Super Bowl. Pelican still does Seahops.

There was also Hawk One by Northwest Brewing, who is now owned by Odin, just like Hilliards who did the The 12th Can.

Yeah, I seem to remember 4-5 of 'em. Hilliards and Silver City, but I'm spacing on the others. Maybe Dick's? I haven't seen any of them in a couple years. Maybe the bandwagon broke down.

Silver City never did a Seahawks beer. There is that Siebenbrau NW Lager they made for Seattle Beer Week 7 that had an eagle wearing a Save Our Sonics shirt, though.

Elysian did/does (I dunno) Elysian of Boom for draft only.

I might be crazy with my "OnlyWAbeer" superstition during games, but I'm pretty damn rational when it comes to the Hawks. Gonna be a rough few years ahead of us. Get ready to lose a lot of games.

Boston area sports fans probably shouldn't be throwing stones, however.
