The quest to clear the fridge of "fridge turds" continues. This has held up surprisingly well at over four months old. It's still pretty hoppy, and black IPAs kind of transition into stouts with age.

My night cap for tonight is an Australian hopped Pilsner fermented in Oak.

Massive notes of White wine and Funk complemented by a super dry finish.

    Cheers and good night Advocates!

This is one of my homebrewed stouts featuring pistachios, lactose, cocoa nibs, and real swiss chocolate. Others have remarked on its lovely profile, but I'm gonna try to review one of my own beers for the first time, and try to be as unbiased as possible (a guy has to be honest with himself to improve, right?).

Pours a chocolatey dark brown color with a starting head of 1 finger, receding to 1/2 finger leaving no lace on the glass. Score : 4

Aroma of dry grains but once you swirl it, delicious milk chocolate, pistachio, cashew, and slight metal waft up to the nose. Slight caramel notes underneath, with a big overall note of milk chocolate. Has to be agitated to really get this good nose. Score : 3.75

Flavor is of delicious melted milk chocolate, fudge, slight hot caramel, with faint trailing notes of pistachio and roasted malts. Score : 3.75

Feel extremely silky smooth with a very nice level of biting carbonation and a semi-roasty, dry finish. Score : 4.25

Overall, something I'd brew again, I may tame the carbonation a touch, and bring more pistachios into the recipe. The milk chocolate on this beer is insane though, I think I got the perfect amount of chocolate and milk going. Score : 3.99

Choking down a wood aged bitches brew. This would be a good candidate for butt chugging if you like heartburn to come from the wrong direction and also like the hospital I suppose. Dogfish head is falling right off of my radar lately.

Having a 16% homebrewed barleywine called Sweet Sixteen. Bottled 10/1/17. Big aromas of oak, caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. Tasting a lot of really nice sappy caramel and brown sugar notes with pleasant alcohol heat and oak trailing. This is gonna hit. Hard.

I have seen the same six pack sitting at my local shop for $20.99 for awhile. I haven't been convinced. Glad I read this!

Congrats on brewing such a delicious sounding beer! Chocolate and pistachio sounds like a great flavor combo. I need to try my hand at brewing, stouts would be fun to design (what flavors to use)
