As my good friend @CanConPhilly would say, beer #5. I was gonna lay low tonight but shit happens. Gonna stay somewhat together. Visiting daughter and granddaughter tomorrow.

Namaste my friends. Here is hoping this is my last post for the night.

Brooks Brewing Russian Imperial stout. Awesome stuff! Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, nuttiness, toasted oak, dark/brown bread, smoke, and charcoal; with lighter notes of vanilla, licorice, dark fruit, leather, tobacco, and herbal/peppery/piney hops. Light-moderate roast/char and pine/herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; very creamy/silky/bready malt mouthfeel; some sticky hops and chalky char/roast. Lightly increasing lingering hop/char bitter dryness, never acrid/astringent. Very smooth, minimal warming 9.1%. Absolutely spot on RIS all around. Very rich dark/black/roast malt complexity; with nice oak stave presence, earthy hop balance, and restrained fruity yeast character. Would gladly buy again. 4.1

Fantastic NEIPA! Great had retention/lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/silky/bready wheat/oat mouthfeel; light sticky hops and increasing dryness. No hop astringency. Minimal warming 10.1%. Amazingly soft mouthfeel, dangerously smooth. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank hop complexity; perfectly balanced malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV. Will definitely get again if I see it. Another killer spot on NEIPA as usual from Mikkeller SD. 4.25

My brother in law drank a lot of Captain 100 proof with his beer. Liver tests came back not good. He stopped the Captain but still drinks 12 plus buds a day. Liver test came back normal. In just three months. A 60 year old super man.

Moving on, Fatheads Headhunter. Found a good beer store, sadly not much of a singles selection & I can only fly back so much beer in a single checked bag

Good evening, all! After waiting for several weeks, I finally received my test results from AncestryDNA. I had been hoping for some earth-shaking revelation regarding my pedigree. I'd always heard that we had some Native Americans in my mother's side of the family, and I was hoping that this test would confirm that. No such luck. Turns out we were German after all. And English and Scots-Irish. And a little Scandinavian. And that's about it. Although I did uncover some rather convincing evidence that we are hillbillies, it only confirmed what I already knew.

Also, after waiting for several weeks, I finally received my 2018 Waldos' Special Ale. Does anyone else think this is sweeter than last year's? It's still awesomely delicious and insanely drinkable. Cheers / skol / slainte / prosit! (Man, it's hard work being a mutt!)

Have another day off tomorrow so, like you, I'm throwing caution to the wind this evening. And I want to ride up to RVA next time I'm up in Virginia. I need to stop procrastinating.
