Vault Brewing 5cs IPA. Found at the beer store only 6 days old

 

Have to work 2 shifts tomorrow so it will be an early night.

Like it but it aint no Pivo Pils.

 

Dude, I would be honored to share a beer or two (or many more) with you if you get to Richmond. Too many good spots to visit. Let me know and I can suggest a number of watering holes.

 

Actually I would rather have the scotch. Actually would rather have bourbon.

Fantastic IPA! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous hops in the moufeel. Moderate increasing bitter/resin dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely drinkable, never overly aggressive. Outstanding juicy and fairy dank hop complexity; nice bready Munich malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Classic Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Ahtanum, and Amarillo hop bill. I'll be drinking way more than this 6 pack in the future, that's for sure. Same with pretty much everything else I've had from Cigar City so far.


Very nice Brett IPA. Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, red apple, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, berry, white grape, citrus zest, light pepper/pine, hay, straw, herbal, floral, and grass; with moderate honey, biscuit, light caramel malts; light musty Brett funk and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness; and Brett tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready malts, some sticky hops, and slight acidity in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/bitter dryness. Very drinkable, 7%. Very well balanced between Brett and juicy citrus/tropical hops; nice malt backbone, but not overly sweet. Glad I grabbed the 4 pack on impulse, will be easy to finish.

I am getting caught up quickly from my late start. Cheers, sickly sweat almost but still dig it.

 

As of now, Veil and Mekongs are on my list of to-do's. Those are just two that stand out in my brain in its frail state.

 

Switching back to Columbus Brewing's Bodhi. My beer buying could've been a bit more strategic... Legion coming on soon, hopefully I stay awake no rewind on this hotel remote

Had this Laughing Loon Lager hanging around the basement for a few years... finally time to drink it.



And You're In the Jungle Baby... which had too much chili pepper character for my wife so I got it all to myself.

 

Both places are excellent. Met two different BAs at Mekong (the Answer Brew pub). Great beer and they also sell crowlers.

Veil is a nightmare on Tuesday (they release new stuff mostly on Tuesday). If you make the journey, I will make it a point to pick up some Veils in their last two weeks. Be more than happy to buy you a few pints there.
