Pelican did one, Seahops. Dicks for sure, maybe Two Beers? HUB and Northwest Brewing did Seacow brews as well.

Because it is delusional, childish and ego maniacal for a fan to think they are as important as a player.

Oh, like calling the teams fanbase a "nation" isn't delusional, childish, and egotistical.

Why are you shit-stirring, buddy? We don't go to the NE board and payp about what a bunch of idiots Pats fans are.

In fairness, I replied to his post and asked him a direct question. At the risk of burning some bridges, I think most sports fan behavior is delusional, childish, and egotistical regardless of which team it’s for. No disrespect, I just happen to focus my own delusional, childish, and egotistical behavior on other pursuits.:stuck_out_tongue:

Greetings all, I'll be in Issaquah for work next week & am looking for a place to grab a beer after work. No car, so it would be great to have a place within the city or nearby. I've spent plenty of time in Seatte over the years but never ventured out east of the city.

Looks like there are a couple of beer-oriented places & a Rogue outpost.

Any tips would be most appreciated.

I enjoy a good dust-up as much as anyone but what happened to talking about beer? If I want sports I'll go to a sports site. Just saying.

Short answer: Sunset Alehouse is decent, and Black Duck could be promising.

Long rambling answer: things may have changed since I was last familiar with Issaquah, but beer options were pretty limited to bars of chain restaurants, divey and/or sports bars, and Rogue.

I’ve had good times at the Joker, Rolling Log, Malarky’s and they are examples of the “even the most BMC-focused places in the NW have at least one respectable craft option” motif, I wouldn’t hold them up as showcases of local beer. The Rogue joint will have some one-offs, but I never left there feeling good about paying Rogue prices for Rogue beer.

I’ve been to the Sunset Alehouse long ago and remember it being fine but pretty unremarkable. Haven’t been to Black Duck Cask and Bottle House, but it looks like they focus on local beer. Neither place has an online taplist I could find.

Are you visiting Costco Corporate by chance?

Thanks much! Yes, I looked around for a couple of places that were "craft focused" & didn't see any indication of beer menus. I can always check out UNTAPPEDD when I get out there if nothing else.

I am, indeed, visiting Costco Corporate. If I end up coming back for a longer visit, looks like there are some great parks in the area!

Black Duck usually has a good taplist and selection of bottles/cans, if I remember correctly. The food is very good as well. I don't think the list is online, but you could check Untappd to see what people are checking in with there. Sunset Alehouse is indeed decent, but it's not a place I seek out.

A great option, if you can get there, is the Pine Lake Ale House in Sammamish. (I'm not sure how prevalent Uber is out here, even though I live in Snoqualmie.) Anyway, it's within 10 miles of Issaquah, and there can be a crowd for dinner, but if you're solo, I'd guess you can find a spot at the bar. Food is good, beer list is usually really good. (Reuben's Gobsmacked is on right now, for example. Website here: http://pinelakealehouse.com/)

Other than that, you've also got Snoqualmie, which is about 10 minutes away from Issaquah and has two breweries—No Boat (fairly new, in the Ridge development, closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and Snoqualmie Falls (been around for years, downtown Snoqualmie). I'd say Snoqualmie Falls has the better beer of the two, but No Boat has been improving, and their space is better. Sno Falls makes their food, No Boat has food trucks.

Finally, this is probably farther than you want to go, but North Bend, about 6 miles east of Snoqualmie, has a couple of pretty good spots. The North Bend Bar and Grill usually has a good enough taplist, and the Iron Duck (run by the same folks as the Black Duck) is a nice new spot.

EDIT: I forgot that there's a gastropub in downtown Issaquah—Levitate (https://www.levitategastropub.com/). You probably already knew that from your research, and I've never been there, so I can't vouch for it. I suppose that makes this a particularly useless edit, but oh well.

You can try Big Block Brewing, which is about 3 miles north of Costco along the East Lake Sammamish Trail. Might be a bit far to walk, but I'm not sure if Issaquah has those crazy rent-a-bike things that are littered around Seattle.

Despite the length, it would be a nice walk and they have a great outdoor patio at the brewery. If you go, try the Raspberry Blonde.

Pretty hard to beat the view from Old Stove's outdoor patio overlooking Elliott Bay. It wasn't yet open when I was up there last month, but no doubt it will be very busy on nice days.
