Family member email just went out this evening. My initial reaction is the double bottle allocation is a far better value for multiple reasons. I also like how one of the perks is a nice discount for rejoining next year. I do think the everything is a bit expensive, especially the single bottle (value-wise).

    Thoughts?

    Hello dearest friends and family!

Thanks so much for your interest in our inaugural Family Membership! We’re excited to start getting beer in your hands (and your belly). You’ve shown a great deal of support and interest in 3 Sons Brewing Co. over the years and we want to make sure that we provide our devoted fans with a unique membership experience full of special beers, great swag, discounts, and good times! We are currently projecting an opening date in September. And as we progress, we’ll keep you up to date as to where we stand in the build-out process.

Let’s get down to brass tacks.

    • If you are one of the first 240 people in line or 60 people to win from out-of-state (we’ll get to that later), you will have the option to purchase a single bottle or double bottle allocation membership.
    • The duration of your membership will begin at sign-up and complete upon release of the last and final allocated bottle.
    • You or an assigned proxy will be able to collect your bottles with a valid ID (21+ only).
    • The Family Membership is capped at 300 total members with an additional small number reserved (at our discretion) for our closest supporters, financial backers, employees, and the like, whom we call our Ambassadors.
    • Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable. Memberships cannot be cancelled by members for any reason. And while we do not foresee this as a possibility, we reserve the right to refuse sale and/or terminate memberships at any time.
    • The Family Membership guarantees you bottles from our releases, where some of our more recognizable and highly sought after beers will be released. Bottles will be distributed first to all Family Membership holders until all allotments are fulfilled. Then, and only then, any remaining bottles will be released to the general public. During the release, we plan to offer said beer on tap with limited pours.

And now, onto the benefits of The Family Membership:

Single Bottle Allocation Family Member - $300.

    • Six (6) 500 ml guaranteed bottles of beer
    • One (1) exclusive Family Member's glass
    • Exclusive Family Member's T-shirt or hat
    • 10% discount on select taproom draft beers for onsite consumption (excluding beers to go) and on all merchandise
    • First right of renewal on continued membership at a discounted loyalty rate of $200
    • Entrance to Family Members Party (with option to purchase +1 ticket). Details on food menu and beers to be announced
    • Option to purchase exclusive Family Member's work shirt with an embroidered name patch

Double Bottle Allocation Family Member - $500.

    • Twelve (12) 500 ml bottles of beers (two (2) bottles of each release)
    • One (1) exclusive Family Member's glass
    • Exclusive Family Member's T-shirt or hat
    • 10% discount on select taproom draft beers for onsite consumption (excluding beers to go) and on all merchandise
    • First right of renewal on continued membership at a discounted loyalty rate of $400
    • Entrance to Family Members Party (with option to purchase +1 ticket). Details on food menu and beers to be announced
    • Option to purchase exclusive Family Member's work shirts with an embroidered name patch

Instructions and Details Regarding Sign-Ups (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):

    Local Sign-Ups:
We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your support over the years. To do so (and as previously mentioned), we will be offering 80% of our memberships to those who sign up in person. We will announce the date, time, and location of sign-ups roughly 24 hours in advance in order to minimize lines. We can safely say that sign-ups will be occurring in the South Florida area. Be prepared!

    Out-of-State:
Please read these instructions carefully: To be fair, we will distribute the 60 out-of-state memberships via a lottery system. If you win the option to purchase a membership, you will need to be physically present at the time and location of out-of-state sign-ups and you will need to provide us with a valid out-of-state ID (name matching entry). We know that traveling is not an easy feat, so we will give you ample time to arrange your trip. To be eligible for the lottery, you must email [email protected] and include OUT-OF-STATE in the subject line if you have not done so already. Bottles allocated throughout the membership may be picked up via your assigned proxy. A follow-up email will be sent advising of further details.

Thanks again for supporting 3 Sons Brewing Co. We look forward to sharing great beer, delicious food, and amazing times with you all!

I really find it odd they didn’t mention out of staters need to be present initially. Everyone probably had their wife, Mom,Dad, etc email assuming they could just be their proxy if selected. Not saying it’s not a bad idea to do it the way they are, just probably should have initially stated that. They probably have a TON of emails from people who would never make the trip to the brewery even if selected.

Man, yall do what you want with your money, but that price is absurd. And they aren't even open yet? I really can't believe that people will sign up for this.

This will sell out in a second, but LOL at $50 per 16.9 oz bottle of beer. Also LOL at anyone flying down from out of state to sign up for a brewery membership. As a group, the beer crowd needs to calm the fuck down.

I want to say so much more but I’ll just leave it at the beer scene is getting stupid. Also secondary market is so ridiculously high on 3 sons right now because the quantity of what’s out there is practically nothing. It will drop significantly, like very significantly. Seen it time and time again. After factoring in traveling costs for people out of state if they chose to, they may be kicking themselves for it.

I don't think it's odd...this is the initial email on the entire membership!

I bet before people got that email they were hoping to sign up some random person from out of town and get a double double allotment.

    This prevents that.

So you are making it known that you feel bad for people who might lose out on the secondary?

That doesn't make sense to me. So what if they lose out?

Looks like any Floridian who is outside of Ft Lauderdale or Miami is gonna get shut out. I hope I’m wrong though

That’s not what I meant. Was just more or less predicting what is going to happen to people who think they’re going to profit on this. I genuinely hope the secondary market completely crashes. But the fact that 3 sons is charging what they are charging, on top of making out of state people fly in, Im gonna go out on a limb and say they are well aware of secondary pricing and are taking advantage of it a bit.

It wasn’t the initial email. The initial email said nothing about emailing OUT
The initial facebook post said to email but said nothing about Titling your email with “out of state”. The second facebook post mentioned out of state but didn’t say anything about flying in. They must have gotten thousands of emails of people who have no intention of flying in. That was all i was saying. If they pick 60 winners, 15 might end up flying down. Seems a bit counterproductive. Had they mentioned right off the bat out of staters would need to fly in for this, they might have a much more legitimate pool of people to select for a lottery.

But since you are saying this isn't the first email they've sent...

Care to share the contents of the original email?

not him, but my answer is: no chance of being first 240 people in line when the south florida local sign-up location is announced AND they can't enter the out of state lottery. So yeah ...I don't see how any non-south FL Floridians would be able to become members without actually being in South FL prior to the local sign-up location announcement.

Not the easiest but....24 hours advance notice..... Drive down and hope you are within the 240 limit.

People have done it before for certain Wakefield release.

I think it's fair to say that while there may be a 24 hour notice, a lot of people are going to know when this is going to happen in advance. This is why I think it's going to be hard. It's just how it is. The same way some people know when bottles are dropping in Tampa beforehand. Clearly, I'm a little salty and I'll get over it lol. At the end of the day, I hope to be able to trade for one without sacrificing any limbs.

If every drop is scoop or summation or any other adjunct barrel aged stout this would be awesome. But it’s just 6 bottles. Not 6 stouts, not 6 barrel aged beers. Just 6 bottles. I know resale value you can’t lose if just 1 or 2 is a BA stout. As someone who doesn’t trade or sell beer I’d definitely make the purchase, but I’d be filled with anxiety about what each release will be.

I also think it will be almost impossible for anyone more than an hour or two away to make it to the top 240 in line. I know of at least 5 people in Orlando willing to drive and I don’t even know that many people. People lined up over night for tickets a 1 day party at AC. Here is definitely going to be a 240 person line within a few hours of the signup being released. And I reallly hope they are ready for that with someone watching the line handing out numbered wrist bands as people show up because there are definitely gonna be people trying to post up with friend who arrived earlier.

Not quite sure why it did it twice either. If you read my comment it doesn’t say there’s been more than one email. It says there was initial Facebook post, followed by a second Facebook post, followed by the email that went out. It wasn’t until the email did they mention anything about out of state lottery winners having to fly in.
