Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Not much going on, another normal Sunday with bottle returns, laundry, and a grocery run later on. Weather is supposed to be nice again, and will be warming up through the rest of the week.

Still tasting fantastic! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate honey, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, and toasted oak sweetness; and floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced bready/grainy creaminess, sticky hops, and oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and increasing bitter/tannin dryness. No astringency. Minimal warming 12.4%. Perfectly balanced between DIPA and barrels. Never overly sweet or heavy. They really nailed it with this one. Got a few more left. Will be a year old this week. Been fun watching it develop over time. More intense on vanilla/toffee barrel notes and honeyed malt sweetness, but still has plenty of hop character. Will have to finish these up soon. Got plenty of Dankwood now, which I thought was even better.

Mind blowing! Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, fudge, toffee, vanilla, molasses, cinnamon, clove, rum, oak, toasted coconut, chili pepper, and light dark fruit/char. Light roast/char bitterness and rum/oak/pepper spiciness on the finish. Very full bodied creamy, silky, velvety mouthfeel; with some slight sticky spice and chalky roast notes. Lightly increasing lingering pepper heat. Mild roast/spice dryness, never cloying. Mildly warming 15% finish, never boozy. Dangerously smooth sipper. This one has a bit more pepper presence than BA Bomb, but is still insanely balanced. Glad I was able to get more than 1 this year. One of their top stouts for sure. World class stuff.

    Cheers

[IMG] Another thanks @jzeilinger for this tasty and roasty Stout. Nose doesn’t do the taste justice, but flavor matters more.

    And now this . . .

Deep red brown color leaning toward dark garnet with slightly off white cap and lacing.

Rich scent of dark malt, ripe black figs, something like cola and dark yeasty bread.

Flavor is a complex mixture of the scents with all combining into a seamless whole. I do not really notice alcohol or hops except a slight hoppy bite in the finish and aftertaste. A touch of roasted chestnuts as well.

Insane NE DIPA as always. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, orange juice, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, guava, lemon, citrus zest, berry, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, light honeyed malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-full bodied bready/grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel. Slight hop stickiness, with a touch of increasing lingering bitter dryness. Zero hop astringency. Dangerously drinkable for 9.3%, minimal warming ABV. One of the absolute best in the style I've had, smoothness is unmatched. Pure citrus/tropical fruit juice hop flavors, with a touch of dankness. Never overly sweet or heavy feeling on malts for the body/ABV; perfectly balanced. Still have 6 cans left from last month's batch. They are supposed to be releasing a new DIPA soon, as this is a 6 month seasonal now. Old Nation definitely has the best MI NEIPAs, but I love a lot of other ones as well. I always have one of their beers in the fridge. I hope they make more M-43 variants, and keep Cart Horse year round.

This is outstanding! This year's batch batch is definitely a bit better than the first one I had 3 years ago. Aromas and flavors of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, fudge, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, brown sugar, dark/brown bread, and light molasses/smoke. Light roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight chalky roast and oak tannins. Slightly increasing bitter/tannin dryness, never cloying/acrid. Dangerously smooth sipping, mildly increasing warmth of 11%, no barrel booze. Glad I have a lot more. There was a second shipment recently, so I grabbed some up. Always worth the price as with all of Odd Sides stouts. My cellar is always stocked with multiple different kinds.

    Cheers

Really hoping for a new album this year. One of the best instrumental prog bands ever.

Did he mean to catch that one? Or was it a fluke?

    :rofl::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::rofl:

Had to. Needed some humor to get over the thought of tossing back so big a flounder (I know it's a different species, but it sure looks like the flounders in our Gulf Coast bays). How many inches was it?

London 2018 debriefing began very early this morning, and I've just now worked up to break time, so break:

I never much liked using my Sam Smith nonic because of the CO2 nucleation point. After almost two weeks of drinking cask ale, I may use nothing but Samuel Smith's glass.

Sure is good to be back. Hope your Sundays go well!

    Cheers!

Interesting to try, but not really my kind of drink.
