Similar to the concept that "All frogs be reptiles, but not all reptiles be's frogs", SammyJaxxxx didn't definitively say people who do carry cash don’t suck.....so none of y'all get offended if you do carry cash and you weren't explicitly told that you don't suck.

Piping in on this one as a proud Plebeian.

I travel a lot and usually carry cash but not primarily for tipping; it’s more for the unexpected. Being able to snag a good deal when it’s laid in front of me is a treat....like $125 for 5 corny kegs, full 20# CO2 tank with reg, a few extra QD’s and a cutsie little Conelius Keg CO2 Charger.
Accounts:
Dickering with an individual over their '71 Cutlass, agreeing on a price and asking, "Can I set up an account", or "Do you take ApplePay" probably ain't gonna seal the deal in rural GA or the Ozarks or Arkansas.

The only difference between bribery and tipping is timing. Still not a good idea to tip a cop after he pulls you over though

I use a shaker pint glass for everything because 1) I'm too cheap to buy different glasses, 2) I don't have space for a bunch of different glasses, and 3) the shaker pint can be used as a normal glass that isn't weird for non-beer drinks.

More hops is not the answer. Balanced > too malty > too hoppy. I'm not much a fan of IPAs because of this.

There's nothing wrong with macro beers. Anybody who refuses to drink them is too pretentious.

 

Yeah dude I agree that our system of paying waiters/bartenders/etc is dumb as hell, but it's the system we use. Not tipping just screws over the people who are most vulnerable and have the least say in the matter. It certainly doesn't do anything to change the system. If you want to completely boycott places where tipping is a thing, fine, but if someone goes to place where tipping is the norm, and they don't tip, they're not making a point or helping to change the system, they're just an asshole. And double the asshole if they give a self-righteous speech about it.

 

I'm sure it applies to some people. But the main reason I and many others don't drink those, is because they're terrible. And there are so many other, better choices out there.

 

Are folks who don't like any style of beer pretentious? I have a friend who won't drink sours or saisons. Is he pretentious? Or is it only the ones who don't care for AAL who are pretentious? Luckily I like every style of beer, as it would make me sad to believe you might think I am pretentious.

 

I don't "refuse" to drink macro lager so much as I go years at a stretch without ever having a reason to drink one.

 

Yeah . . . I don't drink macro beers because I don't like how they taste and can easily find something that I enjoy much more at a fair price.

Agree with the latter but won't unequivocally lump all macros in a "do not like" group. There are a handful of macros I like a lot and will attempt to clone, but until that's successful I’ll get them from the grocery store.


Oh, and if y'all ever tried Mickey’s Big Mouth it just might be the worst beer you ever had.

 

If you stick around for a while, you will find out that you are a loser for many other reasons.

There are certainly macros that are OK in a pinch, but if I liked macros, I wouldn't be drinking craft beer.
