Glad to be off work. Time to blow off steam...even better getting a couple Branford Marsalis albums - vinyl copy of Renaissance and a CD of Four MFs Playin' Tunes...I think the house will be jammin' tomorrow while Mrs. Goot is away at work...

...and this is the same line-up Mrs. Goot and I saw the other week...a truly world class jazz experience that night...

Myths & Legends Medal of Honor

A very okay Blonde, but a great benefit. Fundraising for a local Medal of Honor winner's free standing memorial in conjunction with VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
Sgt. James Robinson, Jr. awarded the Medal of Honor posthumasly for his actions in Viet Nam.

KBS 2017. A dozen more to finish before I dip into my cellar of 2018 KBS being aged for me in stores all across the country.

Each one of these has aged a bit differently, some strong on coffee, some on chocolate, and some on whiskey. This one seems to have almost no coffee, no chocolate, and that just leaves the whiskey.

Daily lager review. This was pretty solid. Great head retention/soapy lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and light herbal/grassy hop earthiness. A bit too fruity with mild metallic notes in the aromas; very muted. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Bready/grainy malts and light sticky hop notes in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/carbonated dryness. Perfectly clean lager flavors, not fruity. Very flavorful and pretty refreshing, never watery. Mildly increasing alcohol warmth. Quite enjoyable overall, despite the off noted aromas. Clean pale malt/grains and solid earthy hop presence/balance for the style. Will seek out EDGE :smirk:. 3.34

This was excellent. Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, white wine, citrus peel/zest, oak, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bready malt balance; light oaken vanilla, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Mild pine/zesty bitterness, lactic tartness, and yeast/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; with some lactic acidic and light hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering tart/bitter dryness. No pucker or hop astringency. Refreshing drinkable. Great soft malt mouthfeel, not overly lactic or drying. Really great balance between juicy hops and Brett/Lacto complexity; nice bready malt backbone and solid oak presence. Will definitely get again! They did an impressive job on blending all around. 4.05

Moonraker Northern Lites DIPA. Finally, a beer marketed as "dank" that's actually dank. Pretty much liquid weed . . .
