I'm sure you'll get lots of input here and you have lots of good beer choices on the docket already but do yourself a favor and skip half time, exorbitantly priced to the max. Here are some other great stores with very fair pricing:

Cable beverages (close to industrial arts and district 96 Brewery which shouldn't be missed). You might want to eat at burger loft which is attached to district 96. Pretty killer.

    Party beverages in Newburgh

K and e discount beverage in new paltz

New store called shamrock beer in highland ny right near the walkway over the Hudson

All of these places deserve your $$$ much more than half time and you will likely find everything they have (or 95% of it at least). Cable is chaotic but probably the number one spot and often has great growler options like vintage bourbon county kegs.

    Oh yeah you missed Equilibrium...

I think the beer is average to good, sometimes better, but Newburgh brewing company has a really nice spot to hang out in. Some tiny sleeper spots include Yard Owl in Gardiner and Obercreek in wappingers falls.

I love Newburgh too. I also happen to love cream ales. Food was good, Cornhole, foosball. Place to spend a few hours.

There's a guy on here, I_Gave_you_Power or something like that- his word is bond. He'll probably chime in soon enough.

Don't know him, but all his HV advice is on point.

Thanks man. This is great info. Do you have any affordable, convenient hotel suggestions?

Not so much, maybe others will have some more guidance in that respect though. What's your crew like, how many guys, curious about the age of the group (not that it matters so much but some places are a bit more stodgy than others).

I just noticed, if you're playing catskill on Friday you'll be pretty close to Suarez and sloop, you might stop there on that day.

That Pomona course is a natural to pair with industrial arts, cable beverages, district 96 and burger loft. Rockland county is super populated and busy and by the time you've done all that it's time to kick it in one of the zillion hotels and open some bottles and cans. I like rushing duck but that might be a little overly ambitious to add on. You should be able to find a decent rate at any of the big chain hotels in the area.

Poughkeepsie/wappingers probably your best bet for an affordable acceptable room when you're in that area. Btw doing plan bee, Suarez and sloop in one day is manageable, or plan bee and Hudson valley (plus maybe a round at obercreek)? I will say Hudson Valley can be absolutely nuts at times, Sunday might be the best bet for a relaxing time there. I last stopped in on a Saturday at 4pm and there were massive lines and crowds, grabbed a few crowlers and bounced.

You have some solid golf courses on there but a couple courses that are also open to the public and worth playing would be:

Patriot Hills instead of Rotella. Patriot Hills is a little pricey but has some awesome holes. Blue Hill is a little further south than Rotella but also better.

Instead of going to catskill play any one of the three you have listed, Casperkill, Apple Greens or Beekman. The Garrison is also close to Hudson Valley Brewery and an awesome/challenging course. As someone who plays these courses 2- 3 times a year I would say do Patriot Hills, The Garrison, Apple Greens/Casperkill, then Beekman.

    Sounds like an awesome trip!

I was gonna say your plans seem ambitious, but that I'm a 46 year old guy with a baby, and I want a few beers and a meal and then it's time to put my feet up. Here I am thinking you're all 25! That's a lot of golf and driving and drinking every day.

I don't know if you indulge in this snack, but there's a great Kettle Corn food truck on the Highland side of the Walkway over the Hudson. Also, if you need any food recommendations for Beacon or the surrounding areas, give me a shout!

There is the Bluegrass Brunch, at Daryl's House (Daryl, from Hall & Oates has a restaurant in Pawling.... where the old Towne Crier used to be). Live bluegrass & acoustic music, if you like that kind of thing.

If you really think you'll be west of the River, and as far north as Greene County .. there is Crossroads Brewing, in Athens.

Mostly I would recommend studying a map, and group together some realistic destinations. I'd hate for you to spend the majority of your beer-cation driving up & down the Thruway and/or Rte. 9

Dunno; no kids coming on our trip. Hopefully someone local will chime in and answer your question.

I am pretty sure they are family-friendly. These small breweries are in the destination game as much as they are in the beer game, and they know it. Games, live music, special events, food trucks, etc. ... and good beer.

I actually don't have a ton to add here that hasn't been covered. That's about as good of a smattering of stops as you can get in the HV, so my only suggestions would be:

    - District 96 Brewing. Only 7-8 miles from Industrial Arts and not only are they making some of the best hoppy beers in New York, but they've got GREAT food.

    - If you're already gonna be in Beacon/Newburgh, Newburgh Brewing is great. Gorgeous, spacious taproom with 20-some odd beers on tap and some great bottles that don't see distro.

    - Also in Beacon, I cannot recommend spending an hour or two in DIA enough. Just a stunning and incredibly unique museum.

OP, if you do wind up staying in one of the hotels on Rt 59 in Rockland County, keep Growler and Gill in mind as a place to spend a few hours that night.

I f you can find a copy of Yankee Beer News, you'll
See if you can find a copy of the Yankee Brew newspaper. You'll find a map with all of the breweries & taprooms dotted & numbered, and info about Hudson Valley beer in the "Upstate NY" section (even though that region is decidedly downstate from my perspective).

I've brought my son to many breweries in the HV and I've never had a problem with him anywhere. Sloop's barn location is actually very family friendly. They have an outdoor area with a playground for kids to play in.
