Good evening BAs! Our first true thunderstorm rattled through, feels great to have the windows open and hear the rain outside. I couldn't be more excited about spring/summer.

With that, I was craving something hoppy. Went with my go-to.

    Cheers everybody!

Fantastic Berliner! Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy rhubarb, strawberry, melon, lemon, lime, peach, pear, red/green apple, hay, straw, and grass; with balanced vanilla, cream, wheat, and crackery malt sweetness; light pepper, lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; very creamy/silky/grainy wheat/vanilla; some lactic acid and light fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tart/tangy/carbonated dryness; no pucker/astringency. Refreshingly drinkable, not overly lactic, 4%. I've never had a compote before, but this is definitely what it might be like. Super jammy rhubarb, with balanced Lacto complexity and vanilla/wheat sweetness. Insane drink ability. Will definitely keep grabbing more while I can. Spot on dessert style/milkshake Berliner as expected. I keep buying more of it every week.

Citra/Amarillo Edition. Outstanding NEIPA! Awesome lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, grapefruit, citrus zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, toasted biscuit, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy wheat mouthfeel with light sticky hops. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no cloying or hop astringency. Insanely drinkable/refreshing, with a perfectly soft mouthfeel. Killer style example. Extremely juicy/lightly dank hop complexity; balanced bready malts, not overly sweet/heavy feeling. Wonderful hop showcase. Made sure to grab a full 4 pack after I reviewed it. Will get again for sure, unless a fresher batch with new hops shows up again.

If I had 1 beer to drink for the next year.. it would be this. Fruity, tropical.. mid-level IBU and smooth. It's my "I wish I had easier access to" beer.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a slightly hazy, golden body with no lacing. Great nose of bananas and spice. Taste of banana bread; really! Good feel and overall, not too bad, just a tad boozy and a bit sweet. Cheers!

Sipping on a Spaten Premium Lager that a friend of mine picked up for me, pretty decent beer if not my usual choice.
Hope all of you midwest folks are staying safe with the nasty storms that are scooting through tonight.
