Headed to NYC tomorrow through Sunday. Staying around Midtown for work. Best shops and bars in the area? Suggestions appreciated. Only trip out of Manhattan will be to Brooklyn for dinner at Lugers Saturday, so will be that direction as well.

    Thanks in advance. Cheers.

I like Clinton gourmet market on 10th Ave between 45-46th streets. Small bodega but they have a really nice selection, do singles, and get a lot of the latest hot hot cans. Beer cans, like those from greenpoint and LICPB and Grimm and so forth.

Midtown bars, ginger man, rattle n hum (two locations), that spot up on 49th or 50th that always has a great taplist but whose name is completely slipping my mind...

If you feel like schlepping to Columbus circle the Whole Foods has good selection and a
Nice bar to drink in onsite.

Clinton Gourmet, Beer Culture, Bread and Honey, and CC WF give you a ton of great bottle shop options in a very small radius.

Milk and Honey in particular usually has fresh cans of Wrench, the most underrated NEIPA in the city.

Edit: Beer Culture, Bread and Honey, and CC WF also have great draft options usually. Bread and Honey is a sneaky good spot for filling growlers of Equilibrium beer.

All advice by all above is great-- Midtown can be big in some ways, so to add to that, if you are Midtown East/ Center - Gingerman has a huge list, often it is a bunch of "good but not great" craft beers but if you are on the East side it is much closer than some of the places above. Maybe check list online or beer menus if you tend to care.. Whole Foods Bryant park has OK (Colombus circle is better) bottle list, and does have 19 craft beers on tap upstairs at some great prices, often local beers and very good ones on tap, happy hour specials. The Colombus Circle WF above has 6 (or 8?) taps, but typically they are pretty local and updated on Beer Menus.

As Is is truly a great beer bar, it is far West (10th ave) but it will have the best beers on tap, great sizes (small pours on many), and never that crowded. Also, there is world class Ramen (Totto Ramen) right around the corner....

A little north and east is City Hops which always has some good beers on tap, and some decent bottle/can availability. Small, but very chill spot especially during the day/afternoon.

Add to the list Proletariat in East village. The Jeffery. Haymaker is one of my favorites.

Whole Foods Bryant Park has a terrible selection generally.....the rare shipment of Grimm's sells out instantly.
