Yeah, I have gone to DLD with people who aren't into the trading scene / secondary market at all and when offered a couple hundred bucks for one bottle of beer they jump on it. To them it seems stupid to turn that down. I wouldn't take it knowing you can get double that online, but also because I want to drink my variant not sell it.

I think there is pushback though because people see them as ruining beer and going for maxx profits, so by selling to them you help encourage that behavior.

It's just beer though.

I've been into trading and "whale hunting" over the years and have bought some beer on the secondary market, but that was Lambics I couldn't get reasonably priced here in the states. This year I'd probably take the cash for a variant because my initial ticket buddy had to drop out and now I'm taking my best non-beer nerd friend and he's not reimbursing me for the ticket... gotta recoup that cash unfortunately.

 

$350 goes a long way in Munster, if you know what I mean.

And I mean sandwiches. You can buy a lot of sandwiches.

I actually haven't been there yet! But it's been mentioned in this thread on more than one occasion, so I may have to check it out next weekend.

 

It's definitely one of the best BBQ places in the area! I saw someone earlier mention Q BBQ. I've been there and was so bummed. They were pricey and not as good as Bombers.

Oh, FYI. The place is small and tends to have a long line. Also if you go later in the day, they might be out of stuff, especially their Burnt Ends (which are awesome btw).

Last year, my wife and I had no success getting into the FFF brewpub on Friday so we opted for Doc's Smokehouse for dinner (https://www.docsbbq.net). We'll likely end up there again this year.

 

Doc's is definitely a good choice. Nice selection of beers on tap and decent BBQ.

 

White Castle? Anyone?

 

Adding sliders to what will inevitably be a heavy beer mix will certainly end well.
