So, what are the events going on Friday before hand? I know about More and Flossmoor. Is the Local Option doing anything this year?

 

It’s Illinois Craft Beer Week...so I imgine a lot! I think Half Acre is pouring their wilds.

BUG is a great event! But the night before DLD? Eh...I’d rather share at local hotels. Presuming that still happens. Haven’t seen much discussion on hotel shares this year. Now that there are more hotels than the Hampton.

 

This time next week, I’ll be real messed up somewhere in Indiana, likely smoking hookah and playing cards, self-satisfied and sated.

Well...today is lame sauce on the thread. I’m guessing y’alls baby mommas getting in the way. I’m at home sipping on a 17 BCBS while baby momma is at the gym. Anyways, a year ago today we were all recovering from DLD 2017. I had my allotment and variant sitting gloriously on a cellar shelf. I was here on BA posting with you jerks about our DLD experiences. Six days from now we’ll be at DLD creating new memories. I’m really hoping to meet more of you butt heads again this year.

Story time! I work in a brewery in Grand Rapids and last night I got chatting with an older gentleman, he says he’s from Northwest Indiana, and then mentions Three Floyds. I proceed to tell him my plans for next weekend, and he’s got the same plans! Turns out he’s one of the original investors in three floyds. He has a laminated card that says “Investor Card, One free pint per day”. Apparently this is the friends of Floyd tent that everyone always asks about. They go to DarkLord day for free, and they drink for free. He said they used to get 4 bottles of DarkLord, but now they only get 2 (he doesn’t much care for it anyway), no word on variants but he didn’t seem interested in such things. I asked to take a picture of the card and he let me, he said people always ask. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for him on Saturday!

I bump into him at all kinds of beer events. Even regularly at FFF.

 

I used to see that guy at every beer event. I’ve definitely seen him at every DLD since I started going. Always by himself.
