Dark Lord (2018)

Anyone have info on what Dark Matter is doing this year as far as bottles of coffee, merch, etc?

Initial search couldn't find anything on the webz.

 

Few things jump out..

Firstly, No BBA Dark Lord, but there is Sherry and essentially two Port Wines? Yikes. I would have gotten rid of one Port and added regular Bourbon. Sherry is only good for mixing with oil for dipping your Italian bread into.. And even then... I just can't help but think of that Sherry Barrel Noir which I fought myself on not drain-pouring.

Secondly, with great DL variants being tapped all day, they seem to be rewarding the people who can A) last that long, but mostly, B) just want to come for the late afternoon/evening and not make it a marathon.

I think Rye BADL is going to end up being a top 3 variant and Lounge will also be insane.

I wonder how much the timed tappings will take away from people camping out for the MoRe release. And I wonder if this was FFF’s response in retaliation to MoRe holding their release on DLD weekend. I think I may have just uncovered the beginning of a brewery war. This might go deeper than any of us realize...

 

I know I’m a bit late to the game. I drove like 10 hours then fell aslee, but I’m gonna say this harder than ever right now.

Nah, I think if this was a brewery war, they would have front loaded all of their variant tappings, so people had to choose between coming to DLD early or going to More. But, with them tapping all day, people, probably myself included, can go to More in the morning, leave at like noon and go straight to DLD.

 

11 variants...seems like a direct response to last years “2 vintage bottles, WTF”. You wanna variant, ohhh they will give you plenty

 

I'm gonna use my leftover vouchers from 2 years ago.

 

I feel like it's either going to be sneaky good or the new Biggleswade/Temeculan. No middle ground.

2. CHEMTRAILMIX - Got this last year, EXCELLENT!

4. FRENCH VANILLA MILITIA - Often repeated variant that I've heard a lot about.
5. LOUNGE AGAINST THE MACROMACHINE - Interesting mix of flavors plus my wife and I like tequilla
6. HUNG DRAWN N QUARTERED - Rye barrel aging should be good
   
7. GREATEST TEACHABLE MOMENTS - American brandy could be interesting, concerned about ginger flavor (not a big fan of it)

10. CAVALEIRO OF VARNOV - Actually a tie with #9 above. Have not been a big fan of wine barrel aged stouts in the past.

Sorry to interrupt the variant discussion but where are you guys seeing this FFF tap list?

 

Chem Trail 18 taps at one at Gumball. If the BA share is at high noon again (and in the pen), we'll be in a good spot.

 

How do timed taps work? Everyone line up an hour beforehand and stand off to the side?

 

I think these timed taps have the potential to be a total disaster.
