I don't think Great Notion's sours are slept on personally; honestly just as if not more saught after.

I wish you were right but a lot of people who haven't been there aren't even aware they do sours outside of Blueberry Muffin since most never see crowlers.

Based on previous information posted in this thread, it doesn't sound like cans have been selling out on Saturday. That being said, double stack is one of the more popular beers that GN makes, so it's difficult to predict how great the demand is going to be this time around.

Clearly I'm not a member of The Church of the Beetus, cause Double Stack does nothing for me.

Same here. Which is a shame. On paper, Double Stack pushes my buttons.

    The (almost) weekly Friday update:

Happy Friday Y’all! Sorry for missing last week! Things were hectic @ Mikkeller MBCC in Copenhagen with no sleep till…..

Back to biz and welcome to your weekly edition of 3 Notion Fridays, fresh for May 18th, 2018. We’re gonna keep this one short and simple:

    1. Saturday Can Releases at NW: This Saturday we will have Double Stack! More info here:

    2. New Beer at Alberta: Supple just hit taps! It’s our first chocolate milk stout and super delicious like mom pullin’ out a tall glass and that jug of Hershey’s we grew up with… Hittin’ our taps early next week we have Return to Space, inspired by two of our favorite beers, Space Invader and Return to Innocence! This IPA is blasting off with Southern hemisphere hop fuel. The Galaxy and Enigma hops provide a bit of dankness and loads of cosmic fruit. Our advice... let go of gravity and Return to Space! Also early next week you will see we think for the first time in Portland a Brut IPA. We dry hopped ours with 100% Nelson Sauvin. It will be an effervescent, champagne-like IPA. Dry, bright and bubbly!

Thank you again everyone and have a great weekend! We hope to see you tomorrow at our can release and at the Alberta pub soon to try a Bubbly, Return to Space or Supple!

Hmm, that Brut IPA sounds interesting . I've long wanted a NW brewer to try a Bier de Champagne, so this would interest me.

Definitely going to need to see what's up with this "Brut IPA" thing.

The double stack trader offers are pretty nuts. I might see if they have left overs @ Alberta and get a couple four packs and see if i can trade someone for a new lawnmower or maybe a BBQ.

Didn't know that beer was so sought after.

Is double stack really that good or is it the "its a new sticker can" situation and now its the gotta catch em all mentality happening as it does every where.

Your guess is as good as mine. It's a pretty sweet tasting stout, and you do get a lot of maple syrup, coffee and dark chocolate on the palate. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth.

When it's on tap at the pub I'll usually order a small sampler size (5 or 6 ounces), as I find a little bit goes a long way (given the sweetness). So it is a beer I like, though as you can see from earlier posts in this thread, it isn't a beer that everyone loves. It's not a beer I run down to the pub to buy a crowler of or drink on tap whenever it's available, as it's not a beer I'm all that enamored with.

I'm sure the fact that this is the first can release of DS probably has a lot to do with the demand, just as I suspect that's the case with the other can releases so far. As the ability to obtain cans becomes more common place, I would expect the demand to wane a bit, and there likely will be shorter lines in the future (or no line at all).

Not sure I've answered your question, or if it's really even possible to answer it.
