I had this beer on draft last night, and it was pretty enjoyable to me. I got a faint hint of peach on the back-end, but other than that I thought it was a nice, drinkable DIPA from Stone.

All of you who get overly excited or offended by a gimmicky product name are lame beyond measure.

And their next release should be MAKE AMERICA HOPPY AGAIN IPA to bring back the customers they lost.

Nice call on the "Ruin-nation" and agree with this except the purchasing part. So many folks are hung up on the nostalgia part of Ruination and many of those older generation standouts. Put out the exact recipe (and you call it what you want) and bet it would bomb today. Sure some old diehards would relish it--but like so many things that were big and unique in their day, that take would have less appeal now. Could list a bunch like that.

As a prior thread alluded, Stone is a brewer that thrilled this crowd for years but lost it. Seems the sales are ok but outside of an Enjoy By taster here and there, I have not purchased Stone in a while.

Wow, I don’t know how this thread is still alive. I’ve seen entire threads removed for far less. Just a bunch of people complaining about the name of a beer and hypocritical folks complaining about the people complaining about the name of a beer. There are a few folks like me who don’t really care either way and are kinda sitting back and enjoying this shitshow. It’s getting kinda stale now.

Regardless of all that, it’s time for me to toss my hat in the ring :smirk:

I genuinely don’t care about the name of the beer or the beer itself for that matter. I think Stone makes a mediocre product for the money. I think most people here would agree you can get a better product brewed locally for as good, if not better, a price. As for the name, it’s just an easy way to get people talking about Stone bagain; as if a frivolous lawsuit against MillerCoors wasn’t enough. Look at me now, here I am discussing Stone! Does that translate into revenue? Not in my case because I don’t really like their beer and don’t plan on buying any. All this did for me is underscore how predictable they are as a company.:beers:

I had one last night. I enjoyed it. The aroma of peaches was certainly there but I didn't get much in terms of flavor.

I’ll defend your right to express your opinion... I’m not buying this, I think politics has its place and I don’t believe this is the place for it, but I’ll defend your right to freely express your opinion even if I disagree with it

Complaining about people complaining about people complaining. And name-calling on top of that.

Then a statement on how you don't care followed by a paragraph write-up. Ok. Who are the hypocritical folks, again?

Gimmicky products suck. If they're good and gimmicky, I'm OK with them. If they're just gimmicky, then they can fuck off. Gimmicky.

I fall somewhere in between the two groups I mentioned. Calling a group of people "hypocrites" doesn't quantify "name calling". It's not like I insulted them personally, I just called them what they are. If you're insulted by that then I can guess where you stand on the matter. Shit, man, I didn't even formally complain about them! All I said was that I've seen things here get deleted over far less and that the back & forth is getting stale. If that makes me a hypocrite in your eyes then big deal, go ahead and label me as one. I still don't care

I'm not touching the "political" message Stone may be getting at with this beer, but I will ask you this. Do you like Odell's Tree Shaker? Do you like Stone's Enjoy By? This beer is a lot like the lovechild of those two, and it's good.

If any of the bottle shops around here decide to split up a few multipacks and sell singles of this, I'll get one for ticking purposes. If not, no great loss as far as I'm concerned.

Same goes for all of these "special" Budweiser releases.

Sounds pretty delicious but I'm so sick of all the Stone loral hopped beers released this year. This makes number 5 or 6 of the new releases this year so far with Loral.
