Got there at 4:30 and started with a glass of Assembly. Friggin' fantastic; I had to stop myself from chugging it. The sour works perfectly with the body of the IPA; I'd drink this all summer if it were canned (and the rest of the year too, in fairness).

After that I had a flight with New Wave Dance Craze, Mic Check 1,2, Karmavore, Wander On and Fizzle Drizzle from Maplewood (which apparently was a last minute edition).

First off, New Wave was fantastic; I have to admit I was surprised that my 2 favorite NE beers were the sours (Assembly and New Wave, in that order). Fizzle Drizzle reminded me of a hawaiian punch sour, and Karmavore was super dank, which I liked (reminded me a little of Power Trip). The wife had a glass of The Continental, which was also super tasty, and her flight included Mango Milkshake, which I also enjoyed quite a bit (her faves for the night were New Wave and Mango, which was a huge win given that coming in, her favorite NE beer was Squeezit, which she also ordered tonight).

Awesome event, super smooth, and great to FINALLY meet @KrajDoesBeer! My only disappointment of the night was that ordering the burger was probably over-ambitious in that it cut down my ability to drink more. Side note--I'm not a pasta guy, but the gnocchi at FR is fantastic.

    Cheers to another great event!

I know it's hard at an event like this where you're trying many beers in the same style, but any thoughts on Wander On?

I'm no Saint Errant fanboy, but I was impressed by the can I had recently.

I thought Wander On was great. Definitely will be trying to get another can.

great event, but my palate might be wrecked from too many of the style.

assembly required was the best of a mediocre bunch.

new wave was alright, but it's not sour at all. cherry is present and accounted for, and you get faint almond on the back end, but it finishes flat.

continental was decent, but the hops just didn't do it for me. has an acidity that I didnt care for.

surprises on the up and down side were bent river mango milkshake and HB dun dun dun.

the mango was much better than the peach one they had on tap a few months ago, well balanced and hit on all the characteristics you'd expect. unfortunately, DDD was extremely thin, lacked haze, and resembled more of a standard pale ale

radio swan still destroys everything I tried...except for the cascade kentucky peach. holy hell, that is a fantastic beer in every way (except for the price tag). but it's well worth getting one pour to sample this nectar of the gods.

Wander on was very tasty. It reminded me of an IPA version of the collab with DryHop (could just have been my palate bouncing between 5/6 different beers), but it was very tasty, and had some of the dankness that I liked in Karmavore.

To be honest, on a different night it would've been one of my faves, I was just really into the sours last night (which is probably partially my fault for starting with a full pour of Assembly). And I agree that New Wave wasn't particularly sour, but I thought it worked well. There was clearly a lot of sweet there that was being at least slightly balanced out by a sour backbone.

Same question here. Couldn't make it last night and wondering if any of these will still be on today?

Honestly, the pre-takeover lineup was so good that even if you show up today and there are no guest drafts on tap, you're good.

@KrajDoesBeer how long do you expect Assembly and Meridian Snooch to last? I'd like to grab some crowlers Wednesday night to take to my sister's wedding next weekend.

It’ll last. They are big batches and we didn’t send any to distro.

There is a new Snoochie Variant coming by Saturday/Sunday too!!

Echoing all and big ups to @KrajDoesBeer anf Forbidden Root for an amazing event. Tops for me were Assembly Required V2 and Wander On. ARV2 to us was such a perfect summer beer and hit all the tangy, juicy, fruity notes that tingles our tastebuds. Biggest disappointment by far was the Bent River Mango Milkshake. Tasted like pure fake sugar and after my wife and I had a sip each didn’t finish the taster.

Overall another awesome time at FR and as long as they do what they do we will keep coming back.
