Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Supposed to get some storms out there later today, but hopefully not too bad. I don't have too much planned for the holiday weekend so far.

Fantastic IPA! Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted bread malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body and fairly crisp finishing. Balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky/resinous hops in the moufeel. Moderate increasing bitter/resin dryness, no hop astringency. Extremely drinkable, never overly aggressive. Outstanding juicy and fairy dank hop complexity; nice bready Munich malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. Classic Columbus, Centennial, Cascade, Ahtanum, and Amarillo hop bill. Just finished off my first pack, will be getting again eventually. Big fan of pretty much all of their beers so far.

Incredible! I made sure to stock up last year. Got 2 more left. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, molasses, fudge, spicy rye, dark bread, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, pecan nuttiness, licorice, raisin, fig, and light smoke/char. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety; and lightly slick, sticky, chalky mouthfeel. Lightly increasing roast/char dryness, never acrid/astringent. Dangerously smooth. Mildly warming and minimal booze for the ABV. This is a flat out amazing beer for the price. For being partial barrel aged, there is still plenty of barrel character going on. Big malt complexity, in combination with pecans and fruity yeast esters. The more recent batches were definitely better than the original 2013 they had released in overall complexity and barrel presence. Will be coming to 6 packs this year, which is great! Glad they keep making it every year.

I loved the old Jai Alai but haven't had any since the rebranding. Heard mixed reviews of it but I'm glad that you seem to like it.

The realtor is coming over in an hour to discuss the bids on our house. Here's hoping.

This morning’s breakfast fresh from yesterday’s visit to the brewery - Bissell Brothers’ “Sigil 3”:

Light roast, light barrel, semi sweet with a dry finish. I like! Have a great Saturday y’all!

Glad you enjoyed it. Getting an early start I see. My first one will probably be at lunch. We plan to stop at either the Blue Mountain Brewery or Devils Backbone. Both great breweries.

Thanks, @superspak, for starting today's thread at a reasonable hour!

Good morning North American BAs and good afternoon to our Europe-dwelling or Europe-visiting BA brethren. It's starting of to be a sunny day here in NW PA - I'll swear everybody in the neighborhood mowed their lawns yesterday so it should be relatively quiet today. Except near me - my closest neighbor hasn't mowed in the last 48 hours so today should be the day - he has severe inoperative back issues and is only comfortable on his mower, so ...

    Today's New Breakfast Beer is:

OK - kind of a NW attempt at a NEIPA, I think.

    Good morning BA
I'm halfway through 6 twelve hour nightshifts and hoping the next three are a little easier. It's hard to inspire hero level effort in a crew when they know everyone else is off taking it easy. This morning's beverage...

I'm hoping for something #proper to put in this glass soon. Cheers all!

Awesome witbier. Been a long time since I last had it(5+ years). Aromas and flavors of lemon, pear, red apple, orange zest, coriander, peppercorn, clove, and light banana yeast; with some wheat, cracker, white bread malts; herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops/spice in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter/spicy dryness. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5.5%. Really spot on style as expected of the brewery. Glad these are in cans now, far easier to find now than the bottles were!

Citra/Amarillo Edition. Outstanding NEIPA! Awesome lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, grapefruit, citrus zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, toasted biscuit, light honeyed malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very minimal pine, zesty, herbal, grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy wheat mouthfeel with light sticky hops. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable/refreshing, with a perfectly soft mouthfeel. Killer style example. Extremely juicy/lightly dank hop complexity; balanced bready malts, not overly sweet/heavy feeling. Wonderful hop showcase. Will get again eventually, regardless of the hop profile. The regular Mosaic/Simcoe version is just as amazing.

A May beer for this stormy May morning . . .

Hazy gold color of a deeper shade, small white cap and lacing.

Deep, rich malty tones waif out of the glass. Hops are present but in a much diminished form.

Taste is full. This is caramel malt in abundance. Very refreshing change from the herd of IPAs stamping around. Malt enters like a trumpet blast with hops from the string section joining in by mid palate and lasting through the finish. Hops bump up an octave in the finish leaving a lingering high note.

Storms are forecast for this afternoon, so I’m doing laundry and packing the RV for tomorrow’s travel day...and making a sacrifice to the Sunshine gods

It’s ridiculously hot in Sweden today, at least to me... I hate summer. Starting softly with Tiger Baby while watching Thor: Ragnarok.
