Good morning/afternoon/evening BA! It's currently 4 PM, gorgeous 76 and sunny in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Will be splitting a few brews today again with some family. Starting off with the Czech Budweiser:

And since I am in Ukraine, I've been drinking a fair share of kvass. As if written on here before, we consider it a soft drink rather than an alcoholic beverage. Given a choice, I usually enjoy the white variants over the dark ones. Frome earlier this afternoon:

    Cheers!

Good morning BA, hope everyone has a good holiday Monday. Got some errands to run later on. Need to submit some data reports for work, since the extraction date was set today on the servers. Going to be another scorcher on the weather.

Amazing NEIPA! Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced honey, wheat, toasted bread, light caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready malt mouthfeel; some sticky hops and slight resins. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness, never astringent. Glad they finally brought this back. Used to be Boxer, but some legal crap made them change the name. I prefer it over M43 a bit. More malty from the Vienna/Munich malts; and also prefer the hop profile more because of Equinox/Mosaic additions. ON is making the best NEIPAs in the state, I have a ton in the fridge right now. Can't go wrong with any of them. Hope Greenstone hits distribution this year.

This is awesome! Aromas and flavors of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, nuttiness, wood smoke, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, dark bread, rum, and toasted oak; with lighter notes of charcoal, vanilla, and raisiny dark fruits. Light roast/char bitterness and rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, silky; and lightly slick, sticky, chalky, tannic mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter roast/char and tannic oak dryness. Mildly warming 11%,no barrel booze. Really impressive balance and complexity of smoked stout and rum barrels. Outstanding barrel integration, with no booze at all. Not the best Clown Shoes stout I've had, but still delicious. Glad I grabbed 2 this year. They always make great imperial stouts.

    Memorial Day, a somber holiday.
My wife and I had a busy weekend. Our house went on the market Thursday and we quickly had three offers. After a couple days of negotiations we signed a contract for a little more than asking price. Our realtor did a good job!
My sister and brother-in-law are back in the state and we will be with them today.

Beer #2 - a local Baltic porter. This is actually a macro brew, but somehow it's my first time having it. Actually pretty impressed, given the price and availability. Cheers!

The pineapple is strong with this one. Not amazing, but actually a pretty decent Triple IPA at the price point, if you like pineapple. Maisel & Friends once again prove they are the kings of value for money.

Delicious English brown ale! Great head retention/lacing on the glass. Flavors of big caramel, milk chocolate, cocoa, toffee, brown sugar, toasted oats, nuttiness, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of coffee, smoke, dark fruit, and herbal/grassy hops. Similar/muted aromas. Very mild herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy, silky, bready malt/oat mouthfeel that is fantastic. Slight sticky hops, chalky roast, and increasing dryness. Extremely smooth/drinkable. Very rich and complex for the 5.5%, with a nice sized body. Very well rounded brown ale malt complexity; with restrained fruity yeast and mild earthy hop balance. Will definitely be getting this often as with the rest of their cans so far.

Awesome IPA. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, white grape, citrus peel/rind, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate toasted biscuit, light honey/caramel malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Very drinkable, never overly aggressive, 6%. I love it, glad I got a 4 pack. It has Nelson hops as advertised; but also Denali, Lemon Drop, and Mosaic. Very juicy and fairly dank hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, and not overly sweet. Hoping to see more Port cans available soon. Not as impressive as Wipeout/Mongo, but well worth buying again.

    Good morning BA
Today happens to be my birthday which falls on Memorial Day every seven years or so. To those who observe this day with the name, face or memory of a fallen relative or friend in your heart, I hope that you can find peace. Our country could never be what it is without their sacrifice.

I'll break the roll of early AM whales now...

Good morning and good afternoon BAs! Well, Mrs. Lizard has returned empty-handed from the Caribbean - the economy of the area should crash without her pumping dollars for overpriced low quality gold and other tourist trash. Her plane left Fort Lauderdale about 45 minutes late but arrived at PGH only ten minutes late so the Southwest pilots did their usual excellent job. We fly Southwest whenever possible.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

This is a quad "made in the style of an Oude Bruin". The expression "Neither fish nor flesh nor fowl" comes to mind.

Decadent - Multiflora. A DIPA that is way too sweet and with a hop profile that is there on the nose but not in terms of bitterness. Not sure this particular beer justifies the price. I get the impression that many of Decadent's beers are on the sweeter end of the spectrum regardless of style.

Coffee is a little more subdued in this batch than I would prefer. At least at this given moment.
