Just noticed on their website that the beer makes use of Simcoe hops. Last time I checked it was hopped with Huell Melon and called a Blond Ale. I just wanted to confirm this.

I thought it was a hoppy cream ale?

As @Sixpoint would say, it’s undefinable. Personally I consider it an American pale wheat ale. Never thought of it as a blond.

Why did you tag Sixpoint here, but not in your first post? Could have probably just sent a message instead of making a thread about this.

Yup, could have done that, but no problem either way.

It is an undefinable beer, and always has transcended styles and hybridized influences. Simcoe has always been part of the recipe, and Huell Melon was introduced when the hop variety became available.

    cheers

If it is undefinable you should stop redefining it. And the only reason I say that is because every time you do, those who live and die by style guidelines (here on BA) get all flarbadonged over it.

Cream Ale always felt right to me. A unique one, but it best prepares you for what you are about to taste.

    Just my 2 cents

Agreed, in my mind it's a cream ale. Call it whatever you want though, it's a good beer.
