The only changes to what dbhamel posted were that Protivin Pils had kicked (and hadn't been replaced) and Fandango had kicked and been replaced with Backpocket's Pucker Up Raspberry.

So just because I have never been to a TG release before, with these midnight tweet announcements, does that mean that people basically flock to the brewery to get in line as soon as they read it? as in the case with sr71 and possibly kbbs?

Pretty much, yeah. I don't know if they have done this before, but that's my plan if I see it.

Being 5 hours away, I'd love to try, but it's hard for me to imagine that I will absolutely be 1000th or less person in line unless I see it right when it is tweeted. Pretty much just assuming I won' have a shot at these. Oh well.

There is no fast way to Decorah....being in Des Moines, its still 3.5 hours away...and Minneapolis is also pushing 3+ hours....so if you were to see it immediately you would have a shot I would think.....also, with school out for the summer, there will be less Luther College mules....

On a related note, have they EVER done a release like these on a weekday, or always a Saturday?

I'm asleep half the time by midnight (central), especially during the week, but I feel like I'd also have a better shot if it was during the week since I may be able to rearrangement my schedule better over the next 5 weeks than some others.

Have a gut feeling Wlexile might be right, but maybe TG will be closed on the 4th.

How much do they usually charge for these sorts of releases? I know they charge a decent amount for their event releases, but I have no idea if they follow the same pricing for their "silent" releases.

My guess is 50$ a bottle, unless they do a 2- bottle set per person with a glass then likely 100$, but I highly doubt that with SR or KBBS.

A midnight announcement just sounds like a recipe for bad stuff to happen. Hundreds or even a thousand half-asleep neckbeards from a 500 mile radius speeding on darkened highways hoping to get there in time. This will be interesting to observe.

Would the line be long enough to sell out before the place even opens? If so ... yikes.

Imagine if this announcement that the beer was ready came at midnight in January...during a blizzard. Cars piling up across all the 2 lane roads around Decorah and bros on snowmobiles & dogsleds towing in mule toboggans across the countryside. Oh what fun it is!

The first SR-71 was a Tuesday, if memory serves. The second (?) bottling of KBBS was silently released on a weekday, too, or at least it was available on a weekday (lasted a few days IIRC).

Tuesday afternoon I believe. It lasted nearly through the next day. I went at open on that Wednesday and there weren't that many people there.

I'm guessing this release will be Tues-Thurs and if they tweet it at midnight the night before you'll be fine getting there at open to get an allotment.

Just popped a 5/9 Bottle of DDH Sue... it was disgusting. My brother told me it was off and I thought maybe he got a bad bottle. Bought one from a different store and it tasted nothing like Sue... This is one of my favorite beers. Anyone else seeing this?

Drank one last night and it was fine. Good enough to drink the whole thing myself.

Sipping on a Pirate Noir from Prairie. It’s ridiculous how good these shelf ba stouts are.
