Considering one of the local distros is trying to pass off HB Maibock bottled in January of 2017, 6 months isn't old for an import. One year is pushing it, but it also depends on the beer.

As someone who has followed HB in the U.S. for some time, I can tell you that the Maibock turns bad pretty quick. Spaten Premium's flavor just sort of fades to blah (not a cinematic term), so it's still drinkable, just not as enjoyable.

My wife is in love with this stuff. Its semi-available where we live. I just bought the last pack at our local store and they said they won't have more until next week.
BTW, are we in record territory for a new release thread?

I really had to return here to express my affection for this brew. Sessionable in every sense of the word (accept it being above 4.0). My 12 pack lasted 2 days. I drank nothing else, apart from one other beer (only because I thought I had run out of AF...but one was hiding). A perfect beer.

I don't go hunting for beer nor get in line or download an app. I do see your core beers all over but not Alpenflo. I just thought it would get more coverage. Didn't even see it at a few whole foods.

If you aren't willing to do what it takes to find a beer you want to try, stop bitching about how it's not where you want it to be. Do you realize how entitled you sound in this thread? Look at all the people who are from out of state who are working with Shane and searching high and low to find this. @Twinathon posted from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DAMN WORLD.

I swear, it seems like you are acting stupid just to stir up trouble. For the love of god, show up at the brewery on the 16th and buy a whole goddamn pallet of the beer so this thread can be about the beer itself and this sidetrack can die a painful death.

Sometimes Sixpoint customer engagement can go a bit too far.

If you're in Long Island that massive (and great) beer store next to Total Wine in Westbury has it, and priced well. Even if you are a bit far, that store is probably the best store in a 10 mile radius

You should put air quotes on "looking" or use a different word. @frozyn's response was a little much, but you are being lazy and whiny. Many local stores will put an order for customers if you ask...you can delegate your "search." And if asking a store or using an app is too much, then....
You can find the nearest place to you selling Alpenflo without an app at least as fast as posting a complaint in this discussion.

@ecpho, to springboard on what @Ranbot posted of: "Many local stores will put an order for customers if you ask...you can delegate your "search."

Straub Brewing is now producing their Kolsch beer year-round under the brand name of Tight Lines Kolsch. That beer is packaged as two 12-packs per case. I had a conversation with the manager of my local Retail Beer Distributor. I politely related to him my interest in buying a 6-pack of this Kolsch. I impressed upon him that I understand if he chose to not order a whole case. He cheerfully responded to me: "No problem Jack. I am happy to order a case and I will break up the 12-pack and sell you a 6-pack." After receiving an e-mail that he received the beer a couple days later I strolled in and bought that 6-pack.

Minimal effort on my part and everybody was happy. The manager was happy to order the beer for me and I was happy to purchase the 6-pack. A classic win-win transaction.

    Cheers!

P.S. I will tag you on my post of the Straub Kolsch taste evaluation when I post it on New Beer Sunday thread. I will also be evaluating the new Kolsch from Sierra Nevada and also my recently homebrewed Kolsch.

I think much is being made by a quick snide one line comment I made to (mostly) other beer drinkers. Getting blowback from brewery employees isn't a great look.

Maybe, but it's one of many negative and complaining comments you've made in this discussion.... the straw that broke the camel's back. But I agree with you here....
Even though I understand their frustration, you're right, it's not a good look. But, they are people just like us... clearly.

But seriously, talk to your local store... if a store will not bother to place a phone to their distributor on behalf of a customer for a guaranteed sale, then you need to shop elsewhere.

It is not one snide comment. It is your history on this thread and the rest of the NYC area threads you participate in. Not sure what you are like in real life, but you come across as a complainer on this site. You constantly complained about all the local haze craze and the lack of options for other styles. Sixpoint makes a world class beer in a style most people have no idea about, I would think this would be right up your alley, but you still complain. Go find the beer, or stop posting in this thread. Do you want someone from Sixpoint to come to your door and pour it in your mouth for you? Knowing their commitment to customer experience I am actually surprised no one from Sixpoint has done this.

And for the record @frozyn is not a brewery employee, just a big fan of the brewery based on their beer and the world class customer experience Shane and Sixpoint team have provided.
