Got in line around 10:30 at the entrance of the Linwood park. Got full allotments at 3:30.

5 hour wait for beer but eh, oh well. I'm willing to do that once a year during the anniversary. Heard a lot of the beers are still hot so I'll be waiting a week on all the IPAs. Going to crack open an Only Void coffee tonight during this rainy weather.

All in all, very tame experience. No drunkenness or yelling, people we're relaxed. Happy Birthday Tired Hands!

So 3.5 hours in line after they opened? That's... Fucking terrible Was there 1 working register?

Piling on to this post, I'm also going to be in town on Tuesday afternoon with time to visit one of the locations. Is the Brew Cafe or the Fermentaria the way to go if I want to sample a few beers, having never had TH before? Any comments/suggestions are welcomed and appreciated for a TH newbie. Thank you in advance. Cheers!

I was about 400-500 deep, arrived at 9am. Got everything I wanted by about 3:15. Had a lot of good conversations with people. Also, that Nitro Vanilla Shake is divine and I wish Guinness would give TH the license for the widget.

Yeah, agreed. People just tossing down five chairs for their friend and disappearing until 11:55 is lame. It's a shame the honor system isn't viable anymore, and I don't think people should be forced to sit in their chair all morning, so wristbands would be great.

Fermentaria usually has a wider selection and I enjoy the food more. Just check the lists for the day you go, though!

If you want the TH standards, the Ferm is the way to go. Better food too. Brew Cafe tends to host the more experimental, one-off stuff.

"Better food" is highly subjective. "More extensive menu" surely fits the Ferm, but sometimes nothing goes better with a couple saisons than a bologna and cheese panini. It just depends what you're in the mood for.

From the sound of it, I'm betting the bulk of the register time was a product of having to sort out orders from a stack of 7 different cans. Would have probably made more sense to just go with 1 4-pack pp for all the cans and made it easier/quicker to roll out orders.

Rolled in at 7:30 to a three person line and got everything except milkshake, OV, and high tripper, which were all sold out. Big thanks to TH for keeping the allotments low and having almost everything on draft, i.e., spreading the wealth.

Just noticed that Grafted Oblivex was canned on May 25th. Interesting.

That is awesome, I was thinking about showing up later but couldn't make it. I'm not surprised by the canning date, with their system and the number of releases of different cans I'm sure they had to plan that out for a while.

There were 4 actually, and when you got there you found out they moved extremely quick. You figure that each checkout process took around 1 minute. So 4 People * 60 minutes = about 240ish people an hour.

I was about 600-700 in line so the math works out when you think about it. Tired Hands employees did all they could but at a certain point, the #LineLife cannot be beaten

Sounds like maybe they ought to, if the township is cool with it, do the high demand stuff like 'shake/OV one day, and everything else the other day. I doubt that there would have been 800 people in line for the other stuff, and then you don't have it taking 3 hours to blow out the line. At a normal 2 or 3 can release, they can get people in and out in 30 seconds.

Did anyone hit the rummage sale? Judging by IG it sounds like it was pretty low key.

Should we expect a Thursday release this week?

I agree the TH employees were working hard. Obviously, there are ways to sell even highly sought-after beer that don't involve making your customers wait in line for 6+ hours. Tired Hands has clearly decided that the long lines work for them.

It's sort of annoying, but as long as people (myself included) continue waiting, I don't think it's going to change any time soon. As has been noted a billion times in these threads, you can always just go into one of the pubs and get a beer -- often including growlers or crowlers -- and there are now plenty of less-hyped cans and bottles for sale daily at the General Store as well.

There were lines both days. Bottle offerings were pretty good. They had a case of The Host and some OG Handfarm bottles. I was impressed.

I mean, they only have a massive release like this a few times a year.

Otherwise, most beer (recent shakes included) make it to the bar so getting in line isn't necessary. You don't have to wait in line for releases since most canned beers are available for growler fills anyways.

All things considered, Tired Hands does a pretty darn good job catering to the different ways in which people want to enjoy their beer. Sure, they could do a wristband method but that just means people would line up even earlier. They could also do an online release but what's stopping bots from gobbling up the allotments (see Monkish and Bottle Logic).

Good chance we see Alien Church. A lot of this weekends canned beer was brewed throughout May so I don't forsee them slowing down any time soon. They'd be stupid not to take advantage of the hype generated from the Anniversary weekend.

Wouldn't be surprised at a Thursday release though. Gives them an extra day to recover

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Grabbing beer for my groomsmen either this week or next. Hoping for something good with high allotments!
