So, this is something I've always really enjoyed with drinking dark chewy beers. When I've finished pouring a beer into my glass, I like to wait for all the residual beer to gather at the bottom, then drizzle it into the foam atop my poured glass. It's extra dark looking against the head, and I get the satisfaction of not wasting a drop. It somehow makes me feel fancy too. Is this something anyone else does, or am I the only one?

    P.s.
This was a hard post to word correctly so I didn't look like a weirdo.

You're the only one. Nah, just kidding, I upend the bottle at the last and let it finish draining.

I also do that. The settled stuff in a dark beer seems like it would have a little extra flavor, might as well put it back in.

I totally know what your talking about and yes I always do that. Not sure the psychological connection with it but it is a weird gratification feeling if that makes sense. That or maybe I just love the heavy chewy beers and want to get every drop lol.
    Cheers

Those yeasty, chunky, floaties/sinkies are likely the healthiest thing in my diet, so I rarely pass them by.

If I did that, the dog wouldn't get any.

I lick the glass on the ending of what's left of a great beer.

Sounds like a good idea. I tried wringing a bomber out once. Didn't work as planned.

When I get a 32oz growler/grumbler, I drink it in two 16oz glass-fulls, but always seem to have a few drops left which I drink out of the growler. One of these days, I'll just bypass the glass and just drink from the growler. I know what you mean with the dregs - particularly with dark beers.

If you invert the nearly empty bottle an additional squeeze with a slight twist...

...an extra three drops will emerge.

Not only is this act one of great theatrics, all in attendance will be amazed.

I am thoroughly enjoying these interesting perspectives on how to drain a bottle.

When I'm done pouring a beer there are no drips left to recover later. I bet fruit flies have bad names they call me if they ever try to get a taste out of a newly emptied beer container of mine.

OTOH I do occasionally use a finger to gather, like whipped cream on a bowl, the lace of a particularly thickly laced beer glass. And knowing you inveterate hop heads, my guess is I'm not the only one does that.

I do this multiple times with every beer. At this point, it is a tick. When I’m drinking around other people, they frequently call me out for it. Deep down I know they are the ones who are wrong.

No worries, we accept all posts here on Beeradvocate, no matter how weird.

I think the more important question is, do you brush your teeth before you drink that stout?

I have always done this but wondered whether it was a bad idea because the last drops have basically zero carbonation. However, I don't like wasting beer and if it's true that the last drops have extra flavor then that seems like a good enough reason to keep doing it.

Yep, I don't know if wasting beer is a cardinal sin but if not it's close.

The last few drops of anything tend to be the warmest. In my opinion warm beer is much more flavorful than cold beer. Nothing against cold beer but there is a reason so many beer styles are enjoyed at room or cellar temperature.

Agreed with most everyone before but honestly I also love to sip on the last drops implying I have nothing left in my place and it’s way too late to purchase more - so it’s both satisfying and very frustrating.

The last few drops in a freshly finished shifter are something I truly savor for whatever reason.

Always take a bottle and lay it on its side when its 'empty'. After 5 mins, pour into glass...there's enough for another decent taste
