You and everyone on the WBAYDN thread should know by now that Duvel is my favorite beer...so wonderful choice!

However, a lesser known fact about Duvel 750ml bottles is that they are not packaged at the Duvel-Moortgat brewery because their bottling lines cannot be converted to accommodate that format. The beer is actually transported by truck to Brasserie d'Achouffe and packaged there. Likewise, when I was visiting Duvel-Mortgat, they were bottling Chouffe Bok...so it goes both ways!

This beer is art created by @The-Adjunct-Hippie. This is the most shockingly awesome beer that I have had in recent memory, and I try a lot of beers. I could never review a beer as well as @The-Adjunct-Hippie himself, so I will just say that this tastes like a perfect Kenny Chesney video. Which is high praise.

 

A gloomy Saturday calls for a strong, dark beer. Cheers!

Another shout out to the @The-Adjunct-Hippie, who absolutely spoiled me. This beer means a lot to me. My good friend and sister-in-metal from Iowa City, IA, got involved with Backpocket Brewing early on, and she is a partial owner of one of the locations. I miss her quite a bit. We met at a Dying Fetus concert many years ago, and since she is a friend of the band, I got to know them as well. For me, the quadrant of life is family, friends, heavy metal, and craft beer. Right now, that quadrant is perfect.

I just enjoyed one these last night...and I must say, that I really like it. The barrel, hops and caramel malts work very well together, making for a really tasty treat...I might like this one a bit more than DOOM. As compared to Backwoods Bastard, however, I might have to bestow the prize to BB.

This is one tasty brew

 

I was wondering about this bottle. Also had the slight impression taste is a bit different.

Strange size for this beer by the way. Difficult to make a nice pour. The bottle holds about 2,5 Duvel glasses of beer (including foamy head). What am I complaining about indeed

Duvel owns some nice breweries by now; La Chouffe and (more or less) 'T IJ in Amsterdam.

Let me know whenever you're in Belgium (or in the Netherlands) again !
