    I relocated to Chicago from KC a little over 3 years ago. I got some advice from a friend before I left to seek out Pipeworks when we got to Chicago. I didn't realize until the day after we moved, that the place we bought in Chicago was 2 blocks away from the (now former) Pipeworks brewery location. The wife and I went to walk the neighborhood on our 2nd or 3rd day in Chicago and I suggested we walk by Pipeworks. Some of their crew was hanging out outside so we said hey and told them we just moved to the neighborhood and one of them went inside and came back with a bottle of Sure Bet and a Cherry Truffle Abduction stout to take home. Super cool. Sure Bet was the first Pipeworks beer I had and I loved it. So it was a given that we swing by their brewery today for the Sure Bet drop. It will always be a favorite of mine.

    A rather interesting name for a beer, Ninja vs. Unicorn:

    @Beer-Panda
    In addition to those mentioned, Duvel-Moortgat also owns Ommegang and Boulevard in The States along with being a large shareholder in Firestone Walker. They also own Brouwerij De Koninck in Antwerp.

    There isn't a day that goes by where I wish I was back in Belgium...and to be a brewer at Duvel-Moortgat would be a dream come true!

    I will absolutely let you know when I plan a return visit. I just hope Brouwerij De Hoorn (technically, Brouwerij Palm) will start exporting Cornet to The States...that rivals Duvel, IMO!

    I am going in a new and very delicious direction. This is another one that I received from @The-Adjunct-Hippie. I purchased a bunch of Odell beers this week, but this one was given to me as a gift, just for this moment.

    I need to run to the homebrew store and buy some more flaked barley. My head retention hasn't been that great on my beers lately :slight_frown: This is fresh as of June 4th, I call it "Dank You". I also have an imperial version carbonating as we speak called "Dank You Very Much". No label art yet.

    For this beer I use the same fermenter that I fermented my orange creamsicle ale in, unwashed, so a lot of that residual yeast was left over, kind of like cooking gumbo in a 50 year old pot that has all those flavors built in. This is supposed to be a rather herbaceous beer, using Simcoe and Columbus with a little bit of Galaxy. Oddly enough, it smells like a strawberry daiquiri where the bartender got a little heavy-handed on the alcohol. The flavor is both fruity and herbal, reminding me a little bit of ZD. I'm pretty happy with this one, excited to try the imperial version once it's done carbonating. Cheers!
