Not only is that not allowed, but if they see you trying to find any other loopholes in the system, they stick their fingers down your throat to make you give back the beers you've already enjoyed.

Party looked like a great time. I am surprised at how stout heavy the tap list was.

Not trying to start an argument, but Green City is a beer festival (like Wakefest or Firestone Invitational, etc.), not an anniversary party, and the $100 still does give you unlimited pours of beer for 4 hours. Their anniversary party was free to get in and all the food and beer was free as well.

To me, lactose doesn’t make it a milkshake, the vanilla does

But for real. Seems this is the next thing breweries are jumping on.

I think you can have a non milkshake IPA with vanilla, but you can't have a milkshake IPA without lactose.

Nate liked this post. Looks like Bright w/Lactose, Vanilla and Boysenberry Puree won't be dropped anytime soon.

but not open to the public? isn't it industry by invitation only?

It was invite only, but not just industry. I was there and a bunch of other regulars too. I know its not as ideal for all fans of the brewery who may not get to go very often as doing a lottery, I was just trying to clarify a bit.

I feel like all IPA's made with lactose ought to have some form of representative symbol on them similar to a bike with the lower bar. And/or in this era of creating new styles, it should be called something related to dessert - NE Dessert Style IPA, no exceptions. I won't be satisfied until people are shamed into not drinking them.

I just can't see how you can compare an anniversary party where just a "bunch" of regulars get invites to an anniversary party spread over three weekends where hundreds of fans are able to attend. The reason one was free was because of the "selective" crowd that attended.

I might be totally crazy, but if I want a milkshake, I'll buy a milkshake. If I want an IPA, I'll buy an IPA. But I'll never get why mixing the two is a thing. People have different tastes, I get it. But those are two things I never wanted to see combined and if I never drank another milkshake IPA I'd be quite content.
