    Good afternoon and good morning BAs - you know which greeting you get! It's starting off sunny and beautiful - unusual for a June morn here in NW PA. But I have faith this won't last long - it should get overcast and gloomy by 1000. Yesterday it was cool and overcast until about 1900, then the sun came out and began to dry the yard. Of course Mrs. Lizard and I didn't get home until 2145 so it was too dark to mow the yard.

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:



    A very pleasing American Wild Ale with tons (Well, eight pounds/five gallons) of guava.

    I found this pretty disappointing, to be honest. To me this is not the best of both worlds, it's more like neither here nor there. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a good brew, but I would never have this over a regular Weihenstephaner. Also, a proper Hefeweizen is not supposed to come in one of those tiny 12oz bottles, god damn it!

    Giving this one another go . . .

    Slightly hazy light yellow gold color with white cap.

    Mild aroma of tangerine on a mild grain base.

    Flavor is bolder than the aroma. Tangerine is apparent but not overly so, rather it's a bit sharp like citrus zest or essential oils that doesn't come across as sweet like tangerine flesh or even tart for that matter. If you like tangerine (I do) this works rather well.

    SoMA IPA from Tempest Brewing (Scotland).

    Nice tropical fruitY IPA. But being outside now in shorts and a fleece jacket, I almost could do with a winter warmer.
