Since I work overnights and today is my birthday, I need to celebrate early...and I chose some of my favorites:
2018 version...one of the best since I have been drinking KBS (2012 was the first vintage I ever had):

Everything was delicious and happy to have started a new turn around the Sun with these beauties.

    Cheers everyone!

Drinking Norrlands Djup. 6.8% abv. Made by the second largest brewery in Sweden. This beer used to be 7% up until a recent rebranding and the change in abv made me curious enough to try it. It has belonged to the 7%+ category of beers which emerged after Sweden entered the EU in 1995 which eliminated the abv limit of 5.6% abv which was in place. All of the macros came out with their own 7%+ beers. The monopoly typically used to describe them as "fiery" in their taste descriptions but they have become more generous in recent years.

Either way back to this beer. They now label this beer as a bocköl (bock beer) whereas in the past it was known as dynamit (dynamite). The pale color surprised me since I have a distinct recollection of the old version being more amber colored compared with the golden colored Export strenght version. I'm pretty sure it has become paler along with being slightly less alcoholic. Tastewise it seems cleaner tasting and it compares favorably to the Ayinger Maibock which I had last month which is 6.9%. I wonder what the original gravity of this beer is, it tastes fuller bodied and sweeter than a normal Export beer so it has to be elevated but maybe not quite to the 16.5% of the Ayinger. The alcohol is there in the aroma and flavor, but it is not sharp, and it was no less present in the Ayinger. All in all for a 6.8% Swedish macro lager this smells and tastes quite clean. It is sweet with pale maltiness and breadiness and a balancing bitterness. If someone were to ask me for a suggestion on a Swedish pale bock I would suggest this one to try.

I agree with the color, that looks very pale... sounds like a beer I’ll try.

La Trappe Oak Aged batch #30. Best before date is January 2043. Awesome ... If I had a cellar I would fill it with La Trappe Oak Aged I think (and some Alaskan).

Bought a box of six of these at the source recently.

    Cheers!

As always I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Oh and I have definite glass envy over that Falcon glass, I like the Gränges one but yours is alot classier :stuck_out_tongue:.

Not a Caps fan, but, man, I cried a little when Ovi got the Cup and when he handed it to Bäckström...

Now that you mention it I can see some wear and tear. Then again the way I see it glasses are meant to be used until they break or the logos wear off and disfigure the glass, whichever happens first.
