Dovetail appreciation thread

So X01 is weird but also cool. The smoke is subtle enough that it doesn't become a mess like the scotch ba parabola. Not my favorite, but it makes me very interested to see what else they do in this experimental line. Get in here for a taste if you're in the area.

 

They have filled my Half Acre growler a couple times, no issues. They did give me a big Dovetail sticker, presumably to put on my growler. They did not tell me I had to put the sticker on or even suggest it.

 

That may have been me that filled your growler -- I usually like to give stickers to people who bring in growlers as a small token of gratitude ... like, "Thanks for liking the beer that much you to take it to go!" Anyway, in no way was that meant to imply you needed to brand your growler with a Dovetail sticker. We will happily fill whatever growler you bring in (as long as it's not chipped or horribly dirty ... keep those caps off!) ... thanks, all ...

 

Cool, thanks for the sticker! And, your tricky, non-pressure, reverse psychology worked because I put the sticker on my growler anyway

 

The holiday beer is one of the best around. I went through many a growler of that last year, and will be swinging by this week for more.

 

Assuming there are still bottles left? Going to grab one for a beer secret Santa.

Also, does Dovetail do 32oz growlers?

 

Yup, there are bottles left.

And, yes, we'll fill the 32 oz howlers -- tho, we don't sell any empty glass at that size.

was wondering the same thing, kind of odd IMO to not share any details on the release yet. I still have a bottle of X01 in the cellar I've been saving for a summer grill out

Shared a bottle of X01 at taproom today and it was divine. Never would've imagined the combination to work between Flanders and Rauch.

Bartender said if you book a tour tomorrow you're able to sample the usual 3 beers but they're kicking in tastes of X02 (Flanders/Lager) and Kriek on top of the 3.

The X02 is currently on draft in the taproom; bottles will be for sale within the next couple of weeks (waiting on labels).

 

I thought there might be some chatter on here about the X02 & Kriek releases this Saturday. I have a question...as a present for Father's Day, my wife lined up a sitter so we can do the tour this Saturday. If you're there at open, are you usually good to get a spot on the tour? I'm not sure if the bottle release will make that tougher to do, but since we have a sitter, I want to make sure we get on the tour.

 

Yeah, I figured a normal Saturday would be fine. I'm not sure if a big crowd will be there for X02, considering it's probably going to be readily available. I assume Kriek will draw more interest, but that doesn't go on sale until later in the day.
