Underrated Beer Experiences

Trick or treating beers are pretty good too.

 

As horrible as it sound, having a beer without having to chase or watch your kids.

 

The smell of a newly mowed lawn sitting out on the porch as the sun is setting.

 

A few that stick out for me:

1) First beer after a long drive or flight, bonus points if it's with friends/family you haven't seen for awhile
2) Beers around campfires on cool nights
3) First beer after yard work in hot weather
4) Beers while shoveling snow

 

Why would that sound terrible? They're your kids. You don't have to always want them around.

BAs need to get on the bath beer. So nice. Especially if it is outdoor (but note
this is not the hottub beer).

 

Any cold beer in the backcountry/wilderness.
And the closely related high ABV sipper by a campfire.
Lastly a FBS (or other nice coffee stout) at the parking lot before skiiing/snowboarding.

 

Breakfast beer is way underrated.

 

Coming back from a hard and hot long run to a cold, crisp, and refreshing beer is underrated.

Like wise, coming back to a thick, grainy, cool stout after a wind-burnt winter long run is equally as refreshing and perhaps more so underrated.

 

Now you're talking.

Best SN Pale Ale I've ever had was sitting by a waterfall a few miles hike off the river. I've only ever had Jai Alai in camp at the base of a couple 14ers in Colorado as well. Doubt I'll revisit the beer just due to the fond memories (including stumbling upon a fresh 6 pack of Jai Alai in a high altitude mining town).

 

Think I'll test that theory.

 

The before, during, and after sex beer.

Kidding...sort of.


That first beer while on vacation. Bonus points if it's in another country...your first Helles in Munich will blow your mind.

 

Think I've mentioned this before but the beer I had shortly after being rescued from Mont Blanc in February. Off-piste snowboarding gone horribly wrong.

 

I prefer beer before and sleep afterwards. "During" doesn't last long enough for me to do much else but the deed itself.

 

There's a time and a place for every beer. Bud Light would fit the bill here.

 

The after running beer is great. So is the after mowing the grass beer. I was intrigued by the snow shoveling beer; I’ll have to try that. For me the best beer is on Friday evening when I get home from work sitting on my front porch listening to the traffic drive by (I live near a freeway).

 

my favorite thing is a monthly beer share I do with 3-5 friends of mine where everyone brings more or less a mixed sixer and we sit around get some food and share and drink as much as we can great time now that everyone is getting older and doesn't have so much free time

 

Having a beer before Thanksgiving dinner because you know you'll be too full to have one after.

 

This is truly awesome. Add some s'mores and/or mountain pies and that's a bit of fried gold right there.
