Want to wish J and Mike, officially moving on now from Brewery at Bacchus, best of luck in their new endeavor with Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon. Very likely some of the best beers in New York will shortly be coming from them. I won't be spoiling anything to mention that there are already over 20 barrels racked at the new facility.

Taking over at Bacchus is Conor Webster. Big shoes to fill, and I know he was well trained to take over and make the styles for which Bacchus has become famous. Here is the short statement:

"Conor Webster is stepping in as the new Head Brewer of the Brewery at Bacchus. After a start as an avid home brewer, Conor brewed at Stoneman Brewery, a one barrel brewery on a farm in Western Massachusetts notable for its bottle conditioning and beer CSA. He is excited to be brewing at Bacchus and to continue the legacy of creating great beers! We wish Mike & Jason the best of luck in their new endeavors and happily welcome Conor into our fold!"

Even better times ahead for Mid Hudson Valley fine beer lovers. Hope all you NYC guys, and upstate guys, and NJ guys, and all the rest of you, come and share the bounty with us. Cheers!

After tasting King Tut Hat and Holy Mole at Proletariat, I cannot wait to see what these guys do.

Very cool. Hit Bacchus for the first time this weekend. King Tut's Hat was an excellent IIPA (tropical with a soft tart finish) and the food was better then I was expecting. Can't wait for my next visit as well as hit HVB when it opens.

Mahmood was really excellent, as were the other Bacchus beers we tried. Folks should stop in and see that the beer is still really good, the tap list is still amazing.

Are they selling bottles over the counter at Bacchus now?
Last time I was at the restaurant I didn't see anything.

Yes, just ask. Small runs, but Mahmood lasted more than a week
