The fact that I have OFF from work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday AND I get to enjoy a DDH Broccoli by OH on the other side of the world in a HH All-Star #3 Teku puts me in a whole other level of happiness right now.

    Happy early weekend everyone!

The Mrs is off to a conference, I'm off of work, and the day is off to a good start with this while I watch The Cabin in the Woods.

    Perfect followup to Pirate Bomb!
And I have to say I enjoyed the shit out of The Cabin in the Woods. You could tell Joss Whedon had his hands all over that script.

Staying with rodentia themed music. I know I've done it before, but I hadn't heard this song for its first 14 years of release, so I have to keep playing it with other rat related videos.

Not really much left in the fridge as I was on a red wine kick the past couple of weeks, so time for a reload .
Sitting out back with the dogs and enjoying this killer dessert beer from Southern Tier direct from the bottle .

This stout is more of an after dinner brew with a piece of chocolate cake or something similar ..
Very tasty in my opinion, but I love stouts and coconut, so that could be a huge factors contributing here . I can’t even taste the 10 abv whatsoever .
I think it may be too sweet for many , but one and done is great

    SAMOA THIS
    IMPERIAL STOUT 10 abv

    KOOL song

Cold and rainy where I am, plus I have the day off. That calls for something strong and rich to tackle this morning (and into the afternoon). Huge head after a not so aggressive pour. Coconut, vanilla and roasty goodness come out, especially as it warms. Really enjoying this one. Cheers!

    Early lunch with a snappy brew . . .

Deep rich golden color with white cap and good lacing.

Rich malt aroma with a good dose of piney hops.

Flavor on entry is almost equal parts malty richness and hop brightness. Fairly simple flavors but served up in ample portions that lead to a fuller flavor profile. This isn't one of those IPAs where hops take over and malt just totes the luggage, rather it seems to be a well thought out and crafted brew that keeps things in perspective while accenting the hop showcase. Hop flavors do build toward the finish and linger in the aftertaste but they are clean and bright without any heavy handedness.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Not the pack leader perhaps but certainly one of the main dogs.

Another ridiculously good beer from Tree House...
Super Sap DIPA (7.9%), canned 6/7/18...
Drier and less sweet than the Very Green I had yesterday, this one presents a pine and pith character, with grapefruit being the primary "pith" while subtler pale fruits apply some mild sweetness, and the pine airs out the sugars to present a soft, smooth, refined drinking experience...

Last night put an end to my Riazul tequila while watching Logan on Amazon HBO...

Glad I got another bottle... :astonished:

The Avengers MCU has dominated the X-Men MCU (? lol) so much that I'm actually still 3 films behind in the X-Men series (Logan, Apocalypse, and Deadpool 2)... Wolverine was always my favorite Marvel character, having followed X-Men ever since Giant-Size X-Men 1 and X-Men 94 (actual first appearance was The Hulk 181)... Anyways, they've changed his story and muddled his character so often, I was leery of this final Jackman flick...

Unjustified!!! Great film, one of the best superhero films ever - right there with the biggies and solo films from the Avengers MCU - and violent and profane enough to do Deadpool proud - a must-see film I'm glad I finally saw...

Next up in my queue: X-Men: Apocalypse...

    To be continued...

    Cheers...
